Aston V12 Values

I really wouldn't get too hung up on the number of owners. As we all know, these are emotional purchases, and for some it's just the need to scratch an itch for a year or so.
If you're in the market for a V12V, then the car is going to be between more or less 8 and 12 years old. I think it's perfectly reasonable for 5-6 owners during that period. if you were in the market for a Ford Mondeo, then clearly it's a different scenario, but that's not where we are.
I don't need to tell you this, but buy on Service history and condition, don't get distracted by someone who may have bought it and put it in a garage for 2 years, as long as it was maintained properly.
As for the 6 speed being the sweet spot, I think there's a yes and no answer to that. Having owned both, the 7sp manual is without question, in my eyes a better all round package (comfort, waterfall etc etc). That said, I did love my 6sp, and as something to drive I found it more of a handful than the V12S, which was fun too (although deadly in the wet on Corsas ).
Would I swap my 7 for a 6....absolutely not, but if I could I'd have both..........
Value wise I think all manual V12 Vantages will steadily increase over time from hear on in (steadily though, nothing is about to rocket). Of course if rarity is what you're after, then the 7sp is the one, but in the grand scheme of things they're all rare.
Here's a little Sunday morning fact for everyone.........they built 1311 F40's..........they built 1199 V12 Vantages.
Thanks Big Ry. I agree that the number of owners aspect isn’t the main criteria and would be weighted lower than other aspects like condition, service history, etc etc. I guess everyone has the ‘ideal’ car which ticks all the boxes. Let’s see what happens!! If you're in the market for a V12V, then the car is going to be between more or less 8 and 12 years old. I always have an issue with numbers if owners.
Not sure I understand - Are you suggesting that figures the figures I posted are unreliable as I own a V12VS coupe? I know the numbers because as an owner I obviously have a keen interest in the subject and I have kept my eyes peeled on various forums and places and recently discovered an official source on numbers made.

Adam, I think perhaps you’re looking for something that’s not there. Earlier in the thread people were mentioning the numbers of previous owners in relation to a second hand purchase. I suspect that’s what was meant. Not a slur on your data recollection. I also enquired about this car early on, but the all black just didn’t appeal to me and want a manual (despite trying to convince myself!!!). That said, what a car and a bargain if they sold for £71K.
Agreed that it's a bargain. I think if I was to go for a V12S it would have to be a loud colour to show that it isn't a V8V. Hence why I am hankering for a Vanquish.Edited by JJbing on Sunday 7th March 18:17

What? Three new Vantage engines and two gearboxes in 6k miles? Do you race in WEC or something
Nope, car had never even been near a track. I won't hi-jack thread but it was a very sad tale of a deplorable main dealer in NI, shocking AML Gaydon looked after me in the end and cannot fault them for service, car was sweet in the end but I'd lost the love.
