Im sure main dealers must be working on a minimum of 10k mark up.
Yeah but 55k on a car they'll try to get at least 105k is an absolute piss take. Doesn't seem to be encouraging brand loyalty.

Great data. Depreciation could be a lot worse - have you got data on McLaren's? They look like they've got to the point of being almost unsellable
I do, but only going back until May. Plus it's a little harder to get clear analysis on because they change their models fairly frequently.
But for what it's worth, just looking at 570 derivatives up to 2017:

Values holding up well? You might want to mention that to a dealer who only today offered me £55k for my V12V Roadster 6 speed. "Nobody wants an old car with high miles"........2012, 25k miles. So there.
Wow...maybe I should be looking to buy privately rather than dealer!!

I agree - £10k minimum mark up. But that would mean they would advertise that car for £65k - really???

The V12VR was a limited edition of 101 cars.
At £65k that would be roughly the same as a V12V Coupe (core model), so as you say, that price seems much too low.

Sorry chap. If you think GT8s are owned by collectors rather than people who drive them then you’ve been very badly misinformed. We had almost half the UK number turn up for a factory visit to Gaydon just a couple of weeks ago

I would agreed with the comment on the GT12s though. The owners generally seem to be far more precious with those (I can only recall one who seems to use his) and the values are faintly ridiculous compared with the GT8
I don’t think our comments are mutually exclusive, you can get a good turn-out and many can be owned by collectors. I do think it’s disappointing to see over 20% of UK GT8 on the market a week ago and most virtually unused and also others known to be tucked away as I would love to own and drive one. Even more so the GT12 but that really is a dream.

Just had a crackers offer on my car too , I will be keeping it ......apparently no body wants the old model everyone is after the new vantage !!!!!! I think the offer I was given and where the car would have been pitched price wise would have given them £20k in it
My car is now a keeper and will be adding something to the garage. I know everyone has to make a profit but some garages seem to think we are stupid , they think when it gets tighter the best thing to do is try and get more out of every sale rather than try and move stock ! If the cost to swap had been semi decent I would have dealt , surprise he had very little movement in his car! but instead because they were taking the pee my appetite has gone !
I am sure I will be getting a call at the end of the month from them !

There will always be some that end up with low miles. You will just need to take my word for it (from the owners group) that most of the UK owners are using them properly beer

yikes so what they are effectively saying is buy our cars but don’t drive them because if you do we’ll effectively give you such a rubbish offer you won’t take it any further. There must be someone out there that values it higher!

Only one other V12VR on the market as far as I can see (with 7k miles) and the dealer is looking for £114k. That’s some discount for 18k miles. Yours is a lovely spec and only two caring owners!!
Thanks Ian, the previous owner was definitely a top bloke and cared for the car extremely well! Hope all's well with yours, see you soon I hope.

hmmm, if I was a cynic I'd say that line is more about trying to change the perception of the demand for the new Vantage rather than the demand for the old.

Obviously a strange time for all premium brands at the moment.

I'm pleased to have agreed to buy another roadster for £56k though, actually seems about right as I don't believe it has the lw seats wink

I think it may be simply that the dealers are stuffed full of stock at the moment (by all accounts McLaren are in an even worse position).

I wonder if the dealers are also thinking ahead to making space for DBX. Or maybe a few months too early for that?

I think some of this threads replies overlap with some of the share price drops. With where this country seems to find itself today the whole subject of car sales v values v discounting v bubble bursts v finance issues is all coming to a head - and this is before BJ either crashes us out or comes up with the same old plan. Aston is absolutely suffering from the Vantage oversupply from the Factory and judging from what offers I have been made over the last 2 days if I had no present Vantage to partex it might even reduce the price to what it should have been in the first place. I wasn't even that sure I wanted to replace a 4 year old V12S anyway but at a cost of change of " you're having a laugh " I think my decision is made far easier.

However to add to Robs reply on the GT8 question - it could be argued that in isolation the prices of those cars for sale in comparison is at levels which should make it quite tempting if you can afford it - driving one is pure Theatre. Every owner that attended the 2018 event returned in 2019 ( bar one who was on holiday ).There will only ever be the 50 or so available at best.

Test driving an Exige next week - do Lotus Dealers give discounts ?!

I keep looking at the Vanquish (2014ish) prices and they seem to be creeping closer and closer to a level I could actually afford. I have also been keeping an eye on DB9.2 prices as this is what I currently have and as expected they are also falling in proportion. Therefore ultimately that cost to change is probably still too high for me. I wouldn't even like to ask what a dealer would offer for my 2013 DB9 with 35k miles on it. cry

I think ultimately in the long term the Vanquish 2 will be the one to have and if there is a 'bounce back' this will be the model that will do so quite well.

I'll be putting my Flugplatz V12VS Roadster up for sale soon (Bamford Rose primary cat delete - now 615 BHP!) if anyone is interested. Feeling an itch to own a Turbo S or GT3.

Anyone intersted drop me a line otherwise It will costs me c. £10k to pass it through the hands of a dealer. I am lucky I dont have to PX it, I got offered £60k by a dealer which has to be the thick end of £20k below what its worth!

It is crazy seeing how quickly the prices have fallen, even on the V8V’s ones I’ve been looking at have fallen around 5-10k in the past 8 weeks...
When a new one comes up in my price range (2013 year V8S’s) I’m now in the situ where I think I’ll just wait for a month or two and wait for them to reduce it by a couple of K before enquiring
I can’t believe trade ins are circa 60k for V12’s....imagine some guys are taking them up on it too when upgrading etc!

It’s the car market. Everything taking a bath (or returning to normality - depends on your perspective).

Too much production- obscured by lots of people buying cars they didn’t actually want but thinking they would be “investments” is coming home to roost. McLaren Sennas trading £100k below list, Porsche GT cars falling? Jeez I’m depressing myself

At least AML gave bitten the bullet and announced reduced volumes today. Now the others need to do the same
