Largest brakes (steel) ever fitted to an Aston Martin. Ceramics were avoided because they cost more.
Fixed that for you!
Would you want to add £10k to the cost of a DBX to have ceramic brakes fitted then John? Fixed that for you!
Same as on my v12v.
I doubt it's £10k at wholesale/OEM price anyway. The delta between iron and CCM at retail is around £11k...

None of which stops Porsche offering it on the Cayenne of course (for about £4200). They're a business after all, and if someone is willing to pay why not take their money.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the advantage of CCM a lack of fade when pushed hard? Steel discs can provide massive stopping power if they are large enough, but repeated high speed stops, of the kind you get on a track of *really* pushing it on the road will result in fade. I fail to see the relevance in an SUV.

Your post made me realise... why no one already came up with a racing series but just for SUVs? None of which stops Porsche offering it on the Cayenne of course (for about £4200). They're a business after all, and if someone is willing to pay why not take their money.
I mean, I am joking, but not really. Imagine Range Rovers, Cayennes, Bentayagas, Touaregs, X5s, DBXs, MLs and so on racing around tracks but with some dirt too, rally cross-style.
I would watch it. And it might be a cool marketing tool for brands.

Agreed. I can’t see many DBX being used on track. But if enough people want to pay for CCM (I think URUS has them) then maybe AML should consider it an option. I'm beginning to feel sympathy for AP and AM.
It appears that whatever they do it attracts naysayers.
I understand , from previous posts on the subject, that ccm brakes are expensive to replace and that a greater level of care has to be applied as against steel brakes.
No doubt an option to have ccm brakes would be a good idea but guys give AM a break.

I totally agree Steve. I would have thought given the shtick CCM brakes have got elsewhere on this forum that the demand for them (and lets be honest AML would charge £10k for them) would have been very limited indeed. Hence my question to JohnG1...It appears that whatever they do it attracts naysayers.

Why people bang on about performance, I don't know. I drive like I'm driving the guy who drives Miss Daisy.
Thank goodness Pistonheads doesn't design cars!
