My understanding is that it is only the dipped beam (which I think is quite good although I've never driven a car with LED headlights) that is HID. Not sure what the main beam is. However, as soon as there is any condensation in the front of the light housing (as happens when spray hits the radiator pack) this diffuses the light and then they're definitely crap. A design fault that never got fixed despite the cars being made in a damp country.
Yeah I think you're right, condensation in the lenses probably didn't help. I really should get one of the headlamp vent kit thingies.

Nearly hit 1,000 additional miles around 1 month after collecting Jekyll from HWM.

Round trip today included a visit to AM Bristol. A big "thank you" to some familiar faces there for letting me snap away at some particularly tasty cars in their care.

Dreadful weather there and back over mainly small country lanes. Glad I did it; it may have nigh-on 600bhp, but treat it with respect, and it's on your side. Near zero temperatures on the way home and the Pirellis didn't have a hissy-fit, which is a relief!

Really getting to know the astonishing car. Even with all the candy in the Bristol shop, nothing tempted me more. Thankfully! biggrin

We have. had a big week of rain in the South east corner of Queensland but this morning was clear so I left early to see what the countryside looked like

lots of flooding has passed through. This floodway wasnt too bad but too deep for me to cross in the Aston

there were cows out on the roadside in one stretch enjoying the new grass and a run on the road

Up Kyogle way? Next time if you plan a drive give me a bell. Am away next weekend but after that I am up for it, I will bring a sponge to wash yours with.

Sure Tony -was impromptu, woke up at 4.30 and it wasn't raining (maybe that's what woke me up) just me and the V12 for a few hours. Messy roads, you wouldn't want to follow anyone!

Interesting to see the spray pattern from the mud. Can you fit some front mud flaps and then repeat the exercise please !

Johnny

its still raining, so in theory yes

but highly unlikely - took hours to clean the wheel arches etc as well as the car

Finally hooked it up to the CTEK trickle charger from Clive this evening after four months given the recent turn in the weather. I was a bit reluctant given it's outdoors and was a bit nervous about it being exposed to the elements, but the recent thread on outdoor charging (and a double check of the manual) persuaded me!

The sun was out, the roads were dry so a gratuitous trip to Stonehenge seemed in order smile
