Ahah thank you for the invite, it would be my first time ever driving these!
I have and half-idea of driving up from Milan to Bamford Rose if and when my clutch will need replacement (hopefully at the latest possible time), I have no idea if Bath is close by or en route.
Alas I’m not I’ve never been to BR myself being new to Aston.....I see you live in a lovely part of the world...... still haven’t visited Italy myself......can only envy you with the drive up to Blighty I have and half-idea of driving up from Milan to Bamford Rose if and when my clutch will need replacement (hopefully at the latest possible time), I have no idea if Bath is close by or en route.

You are welcome here anytime, we can take the cars for a blast around lake Como! Actually, during the postponed Concours d'Elegance in Como in October, a fellow DB7 GTA owner will be driving down from Germany.EVR said:

That is most kind of you nothing I’d like more but......this is me and mates rebuilding my 400 year old cottage....it’s not my COVID kit either :wobbleSo, I finally had to change the battery when it was mentioned it wasn't good after this years service. Taking it out wasn't too bad, those sliding brackets keeping it in place are a pain in the @$%! though. The battery looked like the original as it was branded with the Aston wings! If so it's lasted 11 years. I instantly noticed a difference on start up. It was more like a puppy desperate for a walk, instead of an old dog wanting to stay by the fire.
I've dreaded disconnecting it because my windows don't reset as per the instructions, it's always a 30 min job to do. Now though I've written it down. Open the doors. drop the window 1cm, wait for the relay to click. Drop the window all the way down and hold for 5 seconds to set, wait for relay to click. Then raise the window and hold for 5 sec, again wait for the relay to click and set. This works for me. If i do it any other way, with the door closed, if i don't drop it 1cm to start with, or if there's a full moon, it won't work.
Next thing to do, door struts.

So how fast can you go in Jersey? I've dreaded disconnecting it because my windows don't reset as per the instructions, it's always a 30 min job to do. Now though I've written it down. Speaking of batteries - I found my Vantage completely and utterly dead (I'd left the keys in the ignition for a few days)
I thought this might mean a new Bosch battery would be required, but I gave my Tacklife T6 battery jump starter a chance. I've had this thing for a few years and it's as close to being magic as anything I've ever purchased. So far I've jumped cars back to life about a dozen times with it, and it still shows its got 80% battery life left.
So, i hooked it up to the Vantage and within a couple of seconds, the green light came on, which is the device's way of indicating that if you try to start the car it's attached to, it should be fine. Sure enough, it started immediately and doesn't seem to be any worse for the experience.
I have the car attached to a trickle charger now to ensure the battery gets fully topped up.
Thanks UncleStig for the procedure for resetting the windows!

Thanks very much. I have a black Rapide too, great car for "motoring". I hope you enjoy yours especially if you can get your bike(?) in the back
but it's 1962, and sister car to the DB4, currently being recommissioned after 12 months non-use. And very little use in the last 5 years. Lots of minor stuff but 50 hours of technician labour so far!
