Well that was kind of the point of this mornings reveal smile. There's nothing left to "mystery" and I think there's a few good "look around" videos out there too (I haven't seen it yet but people say the CarWow one is good, so you might want to look at that).

If you're talking about seeing a customer car. My broad understanding is the timetable now works something like this:

- press review cars in January (second stage pre-production cars).
- First demo cars hit dealers in maybe April/May
- First customer cars May/June

If you want to see a physical car today, I think there's one in the Atrium at Gaydon. Not sure what will happen to the cars from the "confidentials", maybe they will rotate around dealers? And I think there will be one at the Geneva motor show if you're going to that
Ah ok, thanks. Completely missed the morning reveal, just quickly saw that the offcial AML Instagram had a front pic but still somewhat mysterious. And I had enough of all of this secrecy. smile
The cars are visiting dealers over the next weeks, and then in January there is a more focussed DBX tour/events.

Now now James , I’ve been called many things in my life but not vile and elitist , today I’ve added another two names to a very big list.

All because I worded a question in such a way he misunderstood it .

I’ll gladly accept his apology though.
Also quite confused by this anger from the OP. A passive aggressive yawn about colour, which by his own metric might offend 98 percent of buyers, only to then be offended when asked what colour he has specified?

One can only imagine he didn’t manage to procure an early viewing!

Like it, except for...

...maybe the rear end treatment as viewed side on? The front profile is rather smooth while the rear profile has lots of protrusions and indentations. No problem when viewed from the rear, but it's that side view that I'm just not sure of. Have to keep looking at it...

Can’t stand listening to these YouTube / internet muppets. Is that really the norm for promoting luxury cars these days.

Can’t see many of their stereotypical viewers being in the market for a DBX for example, I assume it’s a very cheap form of advertising for the manufacturers.

Saying that a lot of the vids and their presenters are producing very similar and predictable videos.

Something to consider; it took Bentley 3 years to go from concept to production on the Benteyga. That was with the full force of VW's parts bin and R&D behind it. Benteyga sits on a chassis platform from the Audi A4.

Aston Martin has produced its first SUV, from scratch, on a bespoke platform, in barely a year longer. To my mind that makes Bentley look slow, not Aston.

FWIW, the Urus concept arrived in 2012 and didn't reach production until 2017...same parent company, same Audi A4 underpinnings. Aston Martin is small by comparison, but are producing better and better products every single year.
Nice to see you back chap. Hope all’s well. wavey

I do like it, but stylistically it doesn't half make me think of the new Focus.

Looks nice but not revolutionary in any way. Looks a lot like the Levante which is a nice looking car but struggling to sell.
Ok - difficult to make it look revolutionary - given that its a vehicle absolutely driven by practicality - that 'U' in 'SUV'! Unlike say a BAC Mono or Koenigsssseg that don't consider practicality or utility!

I have to be positive because, of its ilk and niche, it is an absolutely cracking looking car. In fact a fairly revolutionary thing is an active anti roll bar that has 1000Nm+ motors at each end countering God's gravity and Newton's laws!!!

Lets not knock for knocking's sake - objectivity might be to say the ducks arse is a bit strong - but then it serves several purposes as a counterpoint...

There have been mainly positive comments which is a very good start, but what do you think will initially be the attraction features for new buyers.

My guesses are;

It is a large premium impressive SUV.
It is an Aston Martin.
The interior looks luxurious.
Generous interior space.
It is an Aston Martin.

I think the technical details which we talk about, won't be too important for many buyers.

Remember the very first thing, which initially had us hooked for the 2005 Vantage - the gorgeous looks.

I am expecting good demand for the DBX, although SUVs are not for me.

I wanted to hate it.

I actually like it.

Not sure it would ever replace my Range Rover though,

In Italy Levantes are selling quite well. As Stelvios.

Yep. Maserati sold 18,500 Levantes last year. I’m sure AML will settle for a fraction of that

Agree - apart from the fact that the Bentley has just been launched as a hybrid ( announced yesterday - what a co-incidence ) and whilst I am no great fan of the hybrids, I feel that this should have been the decisive factor of the DBX in order to set it apart from the rest of the petrol guzzlers and become “kind of” first mover rather than the last of a dying race.
