The other vantage thread seems a bit fragmented now, so let's start a fresh sheet of paper to discuss the new gen vantage.

It'll be great to see pictures of cars, comments about the good, bad and indifferent aspects of the cars and hints and tips.

I'll start with mine, a 2020 volcano red with two tone red/black interior and all the tech boxes ticked.

I picked it up from works service on 3rd october. it was great to get the tour of the facility and see all the fantastic heritage cars and special editions/zagatos etc...

is it just me, or is the fuel consumption catastrophic for everyone else as well. 180 miles to a tank gets a bit boring... i'm filling it up every second or third journey... ;-)

let's see your cars......

That’s a really nice spec! I have a soft spot for Volcano Red, and good to see it’s works really well on your new Vantage.

Are you using it as a daily?

Have you previously had Astons? If so, what do you like about the new century design and what do you miss!

Do you find the seats comfortable? The older standard Vantage seats aren’t the best (lightweights solve that, I feel), so curious how you’re finding these on longer journeys.

Above all, enjoy that stunning car!

I like volcano red too - suits the car imho thumbup
I don't know why people complain about the previous Vantage standard seats because they suit me perfectly and cope well with long journeys (maybe I'm an odd shape) rolleyes

Nice spec Greg, congratulations. I’m surprised at the fuel consumption, unless of course you are permanently in Sports+ or Track mode. I managed some very decent numbers on a UK trip recently, although my wife was in the car, and she has a pathological hatred of all things automotive.

I found the seats so much better than the old gen cars, much more adjustability and not being manual, there is no issue in the placement of the gear lever, which I find odd in my V12V, as I did in my older V8. The seat and wheel position in the new car is absolutely spot on.

My only gripe with new Vantage is:
It needs another wiper speed when it’s raining hard, they can’t cope with a good storm at the speeds they travel.

As for the rest, I think it’s bloody marvellous. For the avoidance of doubt, I don’t own one yet, but have some significant seat time and mileage under my belt.

i'm guilty of running around in track mode a lot of the time (because i'm a child and like the pops and bangs) so that won't help the fuel consumption laughlaugh that said, mid 20's on a run is totally achievable. i'm using it several times a week, but not as a daily.

It's my first aston, but so far, i'm really happy with it. The seats are lovely IMO, on first impression they are a bit flat, but are actually really comfy on a long run.
does everyone else get a weird 'hopping' from the front wheels on lock, it's like the ackerman is out of whack!!!

is there a 'fuse 22' type hack to get the noisy exhaust all the time.

Don't talk to me about the wipers.... a bit of a sore point at the moment... Would you believe it, but we have a rogue crow that is ripping the windscreen wipers off all the cars, 9 in the last week or so!!! what an ahole.. at £110 from aston, it's more expensive than crack biggrin

My (non Aston) does this - and as the weather has got colder, it's got worse. It previously only did it when reversing on full lock - but on stone cold tyres with colder weather, it now does it on slow speed corners. Feels like the wheels are only finger tight and is very unpleasant!

What's the capacity? 50L? 60L?

I don't own one, but I will get one in the next couple of years, I can wait. I have loved the looks since the first time I saw one at preview event.

Manual in blue thank you very much.

I will type my comments now and then post a few pics later when I'm on my phone.2020 model year -Elwood Blue. The Barista at Works had been talking / nagging me for ages but until I saw this spec nothing tempted me.Ironic seeing as I've had Riviera Blue( similar) on my last GT3 and also currently on my Exige - in complete contrast my GT8 is Peridot -the only Aston ever painted so - might of course be a reason for that !
Car is a daily as such and currently 700 miles or so.Ive only bought it as a temporary car until the Lightening Silver I'm speccing is built. Compared to my old V12S it feels very modern and leaving it in Auto makes for both a relaxing then mental car depending on mood.
Fuel yup rubbish - no idea of tank size but range always seem low.Seats ( sports plus ) very comfortable and I like the look - not as good as the old lightweights in my V12 but whatever.Wheel hopping yes to that too although only real noticed it over the past week being colder maybe.
Haven't been able to work out Park assist at all although maybe I'm being dense.
Don't like the fact that you have to cycle through the 3 modes to get Track but that's a bit picky. As far as I know no hack for exhaust switching.
Love the rear and side view -agnostic on front but I don't get to look at that view much so don't care - far more bothered about how it drives ...which is fantastic.
My one due will have a bit more carbon outside ( gills and bonnet louvres ) and ( hopefully) a bit more colour than now insides.
Elwood is my 4th Aston.

I get that hopping on the GT8 as soon as the weather turns even vaguely cold (Cup tyres are like bricks).

But are you getting the hopping in all weather conditions? That doesn’t sound right, maybe a geometry thing?

that does look very striking in the blue.

I feel i may have made an error not getting mine PPF'd - but i will have it corrected and coated soon. It's already starting to swirl up, so the paint is very soft.

I note that (like me) you didn't opt for the exterior carbon for the bumper/skirts/diffuser. I was concerned about repairing any speed bump damage to the carbon being essentially impossible, whereas the gloss black will be a lot more forgiving, if necessary.

I saw one in AM Cheltenham earlier today. Full alcantara interior, which was very, very nice. If you’re speccing one, I’d check the alcantara out.

Rob , I’ve never experienced hopping on the GT8 but never used in cold weather and probably couldn’t hear above the exhaust noise !
The new one , it is only when cold and on tarmac , only this week in fact.

Greg , as a stock car I didn’t get a choice over carbon lower exterior but haven’t specced it on the “ new “ one either.
I prefer the gloss black anyway and given the cost don’t think the value there given I doubt the replacement will then be less than 24 months.

Assuming you're leaving about 10litres in the tank when you fill up, that's 13mpg - good work!!!

The full Alcantara is the base spec interior. I think it’s the one I’ll spec if I buy new
