RRS 575

[500 Miles]

Hello,

I’ve fallen for a black RRS 575 in my local dealership, it’s listed at £125k which although seems crazy I’m coming to the idea of justifying it by saying I’ll keep it for ages....

Am I mad?

I should be able to get the Landrover family discount (not sure how much) and hopefully they’ll want to do a deal - anyone managed to achieve any decent discounts on new RRS’s?

Can't really help objectively because I have never, and likely will never, be in a position to buy a £125k car. That's an eye watering sum of money for something that's likely to spend a few weeks a year back at Land Rover and be worth £50k or less in 3 years time. What makes it so special over any other RRS that won't set you back £125k?

For context, what's the most expensive car you've bought before? How much is your house worth? Are you Richard Branson and this is just spending last month's bank interest? Or are you spending every penny you have on it?

In my opinion, no, you are not mad. Its a chunk of change but nothing good comes for free and they are in my view the best daily driver for the car enthusiast who has the means.

Your PH garage suggests you've worked hard and have a selection of cars to choose from.I just hope this SVR doesn't make some of them feel redundant, they really are that capable on UK roads.

agree looking at the OP garage list it makes sense. Although I would suggest a Classic Defender, a mini JCW and a FFRR for the same money to give the smile per bucks.... but the SVR would be fun but the depreciation would be a kick in the nads for sure no matter how affordable initially.

I’m thinking of replacing the DB11 with it, running out of garage space so something would have to go and neither of the current cars are overly practical.

If I go for it, I would probably put the Mclaren into storage now until spring and probably sell the DB11 in Feb or March - have given it to a mate just now and market will probably be subdued until at least the new year.

It’s probably going to be the last non hybrid performance RRS, although that could just be me justifying it to myself...

I hadn’t, although just had a look at then now.

I do really like the proper one and have been a passenger a few times in the long wheelbase one, it’s a great car to be driven in. However, I think it’s probably too big for me - and a bit grown up as well.

Have you checked out carwow.com, or similar sites to see what typical discounts dealers will offer? Added to this I heard something about a black friday LR promotion on the radio this morning, might work in your favour to move quickly?

I would buy a nearly new car (ex demo) as they can be had under £100k.

Thanks for the info - was the 12 and 18% on new cars? I wonder if you can get the ‘staff’ discount on top of this - would assume one is funded by the dealer and the other by JLR.

First time i have heard of such big discounts normally on these its about 3 to 5%.

If the discount on new is so good why would you buy an Demo? hmm.
