Stoneleigh 2020 date changed?

We've been going to Stoneleigh KC show since early 1980's - show has always been held over Mayday weekend Sun&Monday - earlier today the wife had a phonecall from stoneleigh park hotel telling her the kit car show had been moved from May day weekend sunday&monday - to Friday 1st May & Saturday 2nd May2020 - can any one confirm this???
I know the show has got smaller over last few years.
Anyone know whats replacing the kitcar show on the Sunday & Monday??

May bank holiday is on the 8th next year, so either date misses the normal target weekend.

Hey S47, are you sure it's always been on the early May Bank Holiday?

ISTR that it was on the late May BH until sometime in the 90s when it was moved to avoid a clash with one of the big classic car shows at the NEC (long since defunct).

Anyway, back on topic, Google tells me that the early May BH will not be on the first Monday, but has been moved to Friday 8th May to commemorate the 75th anniversary of VE day, so the normal Sunday / Monday arrangement wouldn't really work, so it looks like they've gone for the Saturday and Sunday.

It's not the fault of Stoneleigh or the show organisers.

It's got nothing to do with the size of the show either.

The May Day bank holiday has been moved from Monday 4th May to Friday 8th May to celebrate then 75th Anniversary of VE Day.

It's always been 2 days.

Saturday was set-up day and the show was open to the public on Sunday and Monday.

its been postponed to the august late bank holiday (29/30th)

That weekend is going to be chosen by every big event bumped through CV19......got to stick a stake in the ground though!

IF, it goes ahead on that date and Coronavirus is just a memory, attendance will be low due to so many other events.

That will be the last we see of a national show for kit cars.

I suspect all events may be a lower attendance due to people wary of mixing - I hope this (social distancing) isn't necessary by end Sept though, but who knows what will happen?
