Having now replaced my DB9 with a mk2 Focus (and a house) I can offer the information that the Focus hatchback release and the DB9 boot switch are the exact same part.

I just discovered via my Foxwell NT530 OBD tester that I need a new Steering angle sensor - part number
4G43-3F818-AA. Does anyone have the supplier details or source of a reasonable priced part. AstonMartinbits want £180 for a new part. I saw a photo of one of these parts with Panasonic on it? Never heard of P making such parts ?

Any advice or help greatly appreciated

Oxygen sensors with AM part#1R12-39-10175 cat monitor O2s are really Ford # XR3F-9G444-B1A which cross to NGK # 22500

I used them in my 2012 Rapide

I also saw that someone was looking for front brake pads for the Rapides
The EBC #DP42174R Yellowstuff also works for my 2012

Another item that may be of interest on OBD2 scanners
The Foxwell scanners starting with the NT530 Professional will work on your Aston. This is what I am using right now. They have Aston Martin software that you can get when you purchase your scanner or as an add on if you already own one. The NT530 I believe will hold 5 different vehicle software at the same time, or at least that is what the website says. I am only running the Aston software right now but I do have the BWM software that I can switch to if needed.
Yes, it will work on the body/chassis connecter as well as the OB2 mandated in the USA.

Cheers

I have numbers for NGK 4477 or ITR6F-13
But.... I have contacted NGK and I am waiting on a response for a plug that is one step colder.
I may call them tomorrow.

I am working on the coils also.
I know where they came from but I am having some trouble crossing the numbers. There is also the 2 and 3 pin versions which complicates things a bit.
I know they are used in Ford 3.0 V6, Mazda engines, Jaguar engines and a few others but there are some differences in the boots. Trying to narrow it down.

Most of the Aston parts are Ford and/or Ford derived parts. If you work on them you will see Volvo, Ford, Jaguar and Aston marked parts
Ford owned Aston starting back in 1987 and still has a stake in Aston today. All be it a small one now.

If anyone has info that would help with the coils or any other parts that would be great.

Guys - any sources for Rapide disks - seeing over £1000 for two but two OE Brembo ones for a DB9 are £106! DB9's are smaller so wont fit - any ideas for a Brembo supplier? The difference in cost is ginormous!

I have a call into my contact at Brembo to see what they can do about parts for the Rapides. Fingers crossed.

NGK last year launched a new range of 12 sparkplugs to expand their sparkplug range.

NGK SITR7A11G is designed for the DBS, V12V, Virage, Rapide & Vanquish, so that's ace.

Have a look on NGK parts finder.

Now £9.95 each from Opie Oil, £25 each from AM.

That is great!
I just pulled it up on the USA NGK site.

Here are the images from the site.

Thanks for the good intel on the plugs PaulRog1!

Now, if we can figure out those pesky ignition coils.....

Good progress made mate on the plugs! They clearly cost about £1 to make and are then about £5 wholesale so £25 to end customer is a stupendous markup. No one minds 33%...making a living stuff!

Now these Rapide disks - unless they contain pure gold about £150 each should cover it - when you have time winklaugh

I have another part update.
The V12 Drive belt
After speaking with parts suppliers in the UK the drive belt/Feed Belt is on national back order.
The following are the aftermarket belts. I am running the NAPA belt on my 2012 Rapide.
Aston# ED23-8620-AA Dealer $140 / Scuderia $72.55
NAPA# 6K1073 $39.18
Dayco# 5061070 Metric# 6PK2720 Summit Racing $33.99 / Amazon.com $31.78
I went with NAPA because it was at the local store and no waiting for the part.

I have had no luck with brake disks. Still looking into it.

You can find VERY interesting prices on this French website for brake discs... and even some other options instead of Brembo OEM even if I would stick with those.

The cable to connect an iPod/Bluetooth receiver to the center armrest port is a Jaguar-Land Rover part. 160£ at the AM dealer/the usual AM sites, 15£ online for the JLR part.

I was buying an XJS oil cooler for my DB7 i6 (early car). Jaguar Part number CCC4897 is the same. £234 delivered next day.

During a conversation with the technical guy at NAR Group he said they have been making coolers and radiators and pipes for Aston for the last 40 years. Apparently they make the DB9 oil cooler parts for Aston. Before parting with your cash I'd recommend giving this company a call. Very helpful.

The side repeaters on V8 Vantages are exactly the same as on Ford Transit Connect

Bought mine from Aston for around 45 quid and found out they cost less than a tenner at Ford

WRONG. I supidly followed this urban myth... They look identical from a distance, but the Transit wing is steel versus the Vantage being Fibreglass so the mounting lugs simply dont fit... Sure, you can hack away at the lugs, but not worth it for the saving.

Don't waste your money! rolleyes

Disagree - takes 5 mins to amend the mounting lugs and they then fit perfectly. Have you done it - I have.

As I stated, you can hack away at the lugs to make them fit, if you have a Dremmel or a small file and some patience. So not really a like for like swap, which was implied? I think it only fair to warn others of this difference, if not mechanically minded?

A helpful guide for those who are interested - https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&... I wouldn’t suggest anyone hacks at anything to do with an Aston. If they’re that ham fisted maybe they should maybe stick with dealer prices.

Sounds like you didn’t have much success as many others have done it with no issues.
