Middleton to Alston is an Epic piece of road...did it in on a runout with the Mk1 Focus RS club a few years ago...also did Buttertubs (from Hawes) and up to Tan Hill pub on the same runout

Did the Buttertubs pass recently in my 600LT - great roads - I had quite a few instances of the underside of the car catching/bottoming out at even quite slow speeds. Aston would have been fine

Yes, just need an excuse.

The Lancaster / Cumbria guys had mentioned on the other thread about a rendezvous with us before travelling to the Fat Lamb.

What about meeting them at the derelict Hartside Cafe?
Sounds good just let us know what time you will expect to arrive. If everyone agrees from the Cumbria and Lancashire side we can arrange where to meet and pick a route up there.

Meet Hartside Cafe 10.15 - 10.30 ish , would leave plenty of time to get to The Fat lamb by 12.30

I am a couple of miles from tebay. Could meet at tebay and go via A6 to Penrith then across to Hartside.

Hi all
I’ve some news that may be of interest to you.

One of the northern contingent will be Paul Thursby, who some of you will know, is the Dealer Principle for AM Newcastle.

Paul has arranged to bring a DBX and the new Vantage Roadster.

His guest, driving the roadster will be Rob Gray who is one of the Aston Martin Performance Drivers. Hopefully he will be willing to give us a short talk after lunch on his work.

Hope this ok.
Thanks
James

Could be the biggest group of Aston’s in one place up north for a long time.

On that note, there will be around 30 cars at the Fat Lamb so if you are there first please park appropriately so we can all hopefully line up outside.

If everyone reverses in it will make for better photos.

We need to confirm the Cumbria and NE lot plan to meet at Hartside is still going ahead .

Maybe James Witton can confirm the timings to ensure everyone gets to the Fat lamb on time

The northern lot should get to Hartside about 10:30.
If we are there first you will easily recognise us. We’ll be huddled round a warm coffee from the van.

Contact James-Witton to find the meeting point for the NE contingent, you are very welcome to join us for the run-out but please be aware that we have no spare places for lunch at the FL.
