Now then, hope everyone is well smile

After a five year sabbatical, I decided that I needed another Monaro in my life! No car before or since quite got under my skin like my old one, so I've replaced it with something very similar hehe

Bought this 55 plate (built July 04 so a late V2 SeriesIII) last month from MWP and I've enjoyed every mile so far.

45k miles, AP's, Wortec cat back (in quietish mode), big MAF pipe and 2nd hole airbox mod with K&N filter, and the first 9 stamps in the book from Monkfish. Not sure if it's got a tune on it but it feels at least as strong as my old VZ.

Overall she's in good shape for an old girl, and now that I'm a dab hand with a DA polisher, it'll only get better wink

Here's to many more happy years in the big Aussie brute beer

Thanks for the welcome back folks thumbup

This time, as it's not a 9 month old car like my last one, it'll all be about preservation. As funds allow, I'll be addressing all the weak points that we know about. As far as mods are concerned, I think just a short shifter and some headers / cats to compliment the nice sounding exhaust. Just slightly more volume biggrin

Love the way people speak about these cars. I’ve only owned mine for a year but after owning about 60 different cars in my lifetime I’ve never felt this way about any of them. I can’t see me ever selling it, just improving it as time goes on. They’ve just got a character that I’ve never experienced before.

Great looking example of a pre-facelift Monaro! Wishing you many miles of safe travel and tons of enjoyment.

I second this! Mine is never going anywhere. Just today, I went on a nice 100+ mile drive in 25 degree sunny Austrian summer weather and I LOVED every single second! There may be faster, more comfortable, better handling, more practical / economical alternatives to the Monaro, but the car just works as a complete package unlike anything I have ever experienced before. Long live the Monaro!
