Another "every day's a school day" question and I'm sure one which will be useful for other members.

Having finally reversed out of the garage on to the drive, my ABS light has come on. This is after replacing all 4 hub bearings with brand new. Original speed sensors fitted and all look fine. No issues prior to fitting the new hubs.

I'm not particularly concerned as I now know this car pretty much inside out, however, does the ABS system need to re-learn after having new hubs fitted, or get a certain amount of mile under its belt ?

I've done about 20 yards so far....

If it’s like bmws which I’ve changed hubs / sensors on it should reset itself after you’ve driven about 50mts

Having finally got out onto the road after 6 months of being fettled, I am pleased to report that the ABS light went off after a mile or so.

However, the DSC light came on and "DSC needs a service" message flashed up.

Got it to the garage where the 4 wheel alignment was being done and came home and did a google search. Looks like the brake pressure actuator needs replacing according to everything I read.

Picked it up after all being aligned and on the way home the DSC light disappeared.

Which was nice.

Looks like it just needed a bit of wheel revolving to get the new hub bearings and sensors all talking to each other correctly.

Good news. So what is it like finally getting behind the wheel and driving it?

I’d already done 350 miles driving it back from Devon when I picked it up back in Oct 19, however, experiencing the exhaust note properly and knowing everything was in tip top condition was just amazing.

I was however driving Miss Daisy, as I had 75kg of sand in the boot. The Hunter 4 wheel chappy said that in all his years operating the machine I was the first person to have come in with the correct weight for their particular car.

Glad you got the ABS light sorted, I've just taken my DB9 off the road and I'm starting to remove the rear subframe over the winter.

I do feel nervous but I'll take it slowly and now you've done it yourself gives me hope mine will work out ok.

The only difference is your sports shift to my auto box.
