Not heard of a "GTS" of the previous gen.

Wonder how much $$ would be involved in getting rid of the awful red paint trim?

I second this, never heard of it. It looks like a bet gone wrong anyway.

GTS was limited production fully loaded 2016 last year of the V8 Vantage here in the USA. Convertible is comfort, coupe is sport suspension. Coupe has carbon fiber front and rear splitters, convertible are painted gloss black.

The red is hideous but shouldn’t be too hard to have those panels repainted.

Nice thing about the drop top is you get the B&O stereo standard.

Thanks, you have discovered one more limited edition for my list.

Details of the GTS model.
https://astonmartins.com/car/v8-vantage-gts/

Perhaps the paintwork on the car you have found, is not original specification.

( I presume the GT name was used in the US, instead of the UK name N430, because Nurburgring is not so well known there. )

You learn something everyday.

I really wonder now what is the story behind those red parts though.

I was about to add this model to my Limited Editions and Special Editions list, but cannot find the number which production was limited to.
Also cannot find the official Aston Martin press release, which announced this new GTS model.

If they did not announce it was limited to xxx, then that makes it a Special Edition.

Are you able to help Andy?

what's the difference between the GTS and the GT?

Thought the GT also had the "s" upgrades with the Vanquish style dash.

Nice looking car minus that red crap. Tan leather inserts are odd too, but not too big of an issue.

Vantage GT was the name used in the United States for the Vantage N430 model.
It was introduced in 2014, so think that was before any Vantage models had the Vanquish centre stack.
A Special Edition model. 365 Coupes, 131 Roadsters (USA version of the N430 excl. lightweight seats)

Vantage GTS introduced for MY 2016.

If you do enquire about the car for sale, please ask if it was a Limited Edition and if so, what was the number limit of production for that model.

I remember that several GT’s were built at the beginning of the 2016 model year. Before AM heard that the US government would not grant them a waiver on new side impact standards for the V8. It was not feasible to spend the money to retest for the outgoing model. So they were allowed 100 units. That’s when they announced the GTS. I am trying to find the AM announcement. But it was marketed as the best of the V8 options. The door sill is printed with 1 of 100.

Very interesting.

But the Final V12 Vantage S's were still built after the crash test issue?

In hindsight, the V12 Vantage S roadster manual would have been one hell of a rare car to order new. Same with DBS volante manual.

Thank you very much Andy.
A Limited Edition.

You probably know, for more recent limited editions, on most occasions every car has been numbered 1 of xxx.
The joke being, every customer wanted car 007.

In the UK, we were amused that the Vantage was deemed unsafe in the US.
Morgan 3 Wheeler - welcome, come on in, perhaps a crash helmet might help. wink
(I know, a car called a motorcycle.)

Yes. Was strange they must have been certified separately and later from the V8 so were not affected. I remember reading that the V8 would pass the new standard but would still need to crash a bunch of cars for recertification. That’s why 2016 was the last year of the V8 in the US. I think AM had already received a year or so extension for the 2014 and 15 cars.

I won’t comment on the added transfers wink

Guys hope this helps.. taken directly from the Definitive Aston Martin Guide (stickie above).....

Vantage GTS U.S. Limited Edition -
The Vantage didn’t meet new (Sept 15) side impact laws in the U.S., limiting 2016 supply. With this in mind Aston launched a final special edition, for the U.S. only, (limited to the final 100 cars). Priced well above the GT (but around $1k below the V8S, despite including options worth $25k+) the GTS features the following items in addition to the standard U.S. V8 Vantage spec’s: 430-bhp V8S engine & Sports Exhaust - Choice of Contemporary or Primary exterior colors - Choice of caliper color - V8S side sills/clear rear lights - GTS sill plaques, badges & seat embroidery - Heated seats. There are two models with specific specifications: GTS Lux: Bright Exterior Detailing Pack - Gloss Black Splitter/Diffuser - Silver 5- spoke alloys - Comfort Suspension - V8 S leather Interior - Choice of Primary or Contemporary leather, fine stitching, carpets & headlining - Piano Black Fascia & Trim - Bright Interior Detailing Pack - Glass Switchgear - Colour-Keyed Wheel - Memory Seats - B&O Sound System.
GTS Sport: Graphite 5-spoke alloys - Sport Suspension (Coupe) - Carbon Fibre side strakes & Black Exterior Detailing Pack - Carbon Fibre Splitter/ Diffuser - Plisse Alcantara or indented leather Seat/Door Inserts - Obsidian/Pure Black or Argento leather + contrast stripe & course stitching - Black Interior Detailing Pack - Carbon Fibre Fascia/ gear-lever surround - Piano Black Trim - Alcantara Wheel - Premium Audio.

Thank you Grant.

With this model included, the total number of first generation Vantage limited editions and special editions, appears to be 31.

This is my new to me 2916 GTS in Tungsten silver over Cream truffle leather. She has just 4444 miles on her. This is the fourth Aston Martin I have had the pleasure to own. First was a 2009 V8Vantage with the Sportshift next was a 2008 with a manual then a DB11. This one has a manual transmission and so far I’m loving it.
