Given the debate here about the US estate agent and his views on Aston I wondered what people think about Mr JWW and his association with Aston following the three way debacle between him, Chris Harris and Lichfield?

As most of you will know, he dailies a DBS which has been fitted, for free I assume, with an Aston Installations multimedia system and has ‘collaborated’ with Aston on a JWW DBX edition. He clearly considers himself an Aston brand ambassador and they clearly pay him for his influencer status.

On a personal level I think he’s shown a distinct lack of integrity over the Lichfield situation and I wouldn’t want him anywhere near my company’s brand but I wondered what members here think and whether Aston should continue working with him moving forward.

I feel that whole debacle was blown out of proportion tbh. It was ambitious to say the least but all Litchfield had to do was say no and the matter ends there. Nobody got fleeced.

Regardless of that incident I think the collaboration with motoring journalists (and he contributes to the Times sometimes so can be classified as such) is not the best route to go down. But it is just another decision in a line recently that I feel is diluting the brand somewhat, and I think the badge cache isn't what it was prior to the AP era.

LS is clearly talented at dealing with luxury brands so here's hoping things look up.

I have seen some of his videos. He did the Aston Martin Motor Show event, when AP looked quite apprehensive in the company of LS. Then there was the trio of Zagatos purchased by a friend, who is also waiting for a Valkyrie.

I know nothing about the 'Litchfield situation' though. Would you like to tell us the story ?

Who's JWW?

Perhaps it's me but yesterday I'd never heard of the American estate agent and today I've no idea who JWW is.

Let's see what tomorrow brings biggrin

Sadly it’s the same in every market.
I’m in real estate and people will ask money to recommend your services.
I generally ask them if they would prefer to recommend someone who’s unreliable earning a few quid in the process over someone who can be trusted earning nothing else than the satisfaction of having recommended trustworthy people.
The world has gone mad, people are starting to realise how screwed up some can be.
Chris Harris is right when he says he doesn’t mind so called influencers taking money from large companies but they’re taking the piss milking small independents.

A JWW is a newly coined slang phrase for 25,000GBP. It was required within the "influencer" world to be able to hashtag #jww as it which gets to the point much quicker and catchier than all those unnecessary numbers, and is an essential step up from the lowly "Pony" or "Grand" for this monied world of financial opportunites.

I do get a kick out of these you tubers trying to one up each other these days. "I JUST BOUGHT A (ENTER TYPE OF CAR HERE)." "WHY I SOLD MY (ENTER CAR BEING SOLD HERE)". WHY I WILL NEVER SELL MY (ENTER KEEPER HERE)".

A Youtuber endorsement of a product means less than nothing to me. If anything, I find their involvement taints any brand they are associated with.

There were a few comments on here when the Mr JWW DBX was announced. The overall feeling was that most on here were unlikely to be swayed in to making a buying decision due to the association between him and AM. It was a dealer special though. The colours were quite nice, but the amount of involvement AM actually had in the relationship was uncertain. Paul Wallace of SOL was also involved with AM through Grange but whether he still promotes the brand or not I don’t know. Imho, I think it’s a shame that AM feel they need to do this. Maybe they think it’s the best way to try to attract younger buyers? I would think the comments from Chris Harris in the video probably sum up how the majority in this corner of PH feel.

Best Regards

Asking for £25,000.
Chicken feed.

You can be bored stiff by an ex-prime minister or now an ex-royal, rambling on with nonsense during just one after dinner speech, having probably asked for £100,000 plus expenses.

We have long known about motoring journalists, being over enthusiastic with praise in their reviews.
Would you risk being droppped by a manufacturer, for the next free first class new model launch jolly ?

One car manufacturer proudly re-tweeted jounalistic praise about their new core model sports car. "We've got a winner", they probably said whilst raisiing their glasses, only to realise the stark disappointing reality a few months later.

I have a vague idea and it makes me want to hunker down in my bunker even further.

£25K might be chicken feed for a manufacturer or fortune 500 company. It's probably a little more significant for a private limited company in Gloucestershire.

Perhaps mixing with the set of three Zagatos and a Valkyrie friend, has given him monetary aspirations.
I was making the point, that £100,000 for a few after dinner speech words of boring nonsense, might be equally greedy.
Everyone wants to be famous while they can and financially grab whatever others will give to them.

Contrast that with the brilliant people who discover a world changing vaccine. They have to be satisfied with the salary from their employer, who in turn is then selling their product on a no-profit no-loss basis.

Is the world going, perhaps has already gone, 'celebrity' mad ?

Yes, I've heard of that. I'm obviously even more in touch than I was beginning to fear smile
