Well, things are moving very rapidly with the house sale!
Heard from the Estate Agent and the buyers solicitors told them the buyer has mortgage approval, searches have been paid for and they have been informed they should be complete by the end of the first week in May. They told me completion shouldn't be too long after that.
Now I'm the least religious bloke you could wish to meet yet with probate being granted within 3 weeks as opposed to the expected 10 - 12 weeks, the house selling within 3 days and conveyancing seemingly getting a move on it's as though someone upstairs is pulling strings
So, to the important stuff....called AM Newcastle and spoke the the Sales Manager. Had a few questions for him re brake pads etc (£800 + per axle) and he said they'd have been checked prior to putting a Timeless Warranty on the car, over 49% worn and they have to change them. He listed a couple of jobs done to enable it to be given the Warranty. He suggested putting a 10% deposit subject to viewing the car and told him I didn't have the cahoonies to do that in anything went belly up with the house sale and I lost my deposit. Apparently that won't happen as a 10% deposit holds the car for a month and if things don't go to plan is refundable and he's happy to put that in writing.
Just paid a £1000 over the phone and will be on my way to Newcastle to view and test drive the car on Tuesday. If all good I'll pay them the balance of the deposit and then spend the next month with fingers crossed, although if need the deposit can be rolled over if the know the buyer is serious.
Let's just say that excited doesn't anywhere near cover it!
Keeping in mind the car will be used for UK and European road trips as opposed to being a garage queen, the fact that it has 38000 miles isn't an issue. If I hung out for a low mileage one with lightweight wheels, lightweight seats and an alcantara steering wheel I'd only end up putting more miles on it,
This is the car and they're sending me a walk around video of it shortly...

lol superb, congrats!
I have to say AM sales guys really should know their subject matter though. In your video he says the CF bonnet vents "a must on V12 Vantage, the standard vents are a mesh". That is simply incorrect. As your car was registered in April 2016, it will be a MY16 car so pre-dates the MY17+ spec where mesh vents came to be. Prior to that, and of course for your car, the CF vents were standard spec.
Anyway a minor irk with salesmen, dont let that spoil your car which is a lovely, bold and special spec! Well done...

One of my close mates here in sunny Derby is a professional detailer and he's done several of my previous cars so regarding ceramic coating by them...nope.
Re refreshing the alcantara steering wheel, I had the same on my CSL and he brought it back to as new condition.

Very nice indeed.
I purchased my Wife’s 40th Birthday Present from AM Newcastle, unseen - although my Vehicle Logistics friend (aka Plater) collected it for us and did a thorough inspection of the car before phoning me to pay the balance on collection day.
When he turned up with it around 4 hours later, it was as stunning in the flesh as it looked in the pics. The people at AM Newcastle were a pleasure to deal with. Pics are obligatory….
On a side note, does anyone know of anywhere I can get carbon fibre bonnet vents for a DB9 GT….the silver ones really look kind of out of place. I know I can get the dipped, but would prefer the real deal.

Stunning, love the red calipers and interior.
I used to work and play golf with a Brian Dodd ..... Have you ever lived in the East Midlands?

I’ve browsed in the past for them too without any luck, Michael Pastryk would probably be able to supply them as he has a db9 so should be able to do the mould. PM me if you find some, would be an option.M1AGM said:

Newcastle dealer only about 10 mins or so away from me.
Not sure how your coming up( train, car ,iron man suit?) But if you need a lift to the dealer from said train station or anything just PM me as I'm sure I can help with that.
Enjoy it.

Unfortunately my Iron Man suit is in for servicing so I'll be driving up
If all ends up going to plan, when collection day comes I'll be coming up on the train.
