It seems that I have come to the end of a long and very enjoyable road getting my 09 Vantage into the best possible shape.
So I will now sit back and look for my next project and as AdamV12V commented in my previous post, which got pulled due to advertising, a V12V might be an itch I need to scratch next.
Exciting times on both fronts.

lol, oh well at least you read my post before the whole thing got zapped!
Get a test drive booked - they are rather addictive. I'm into my 12th year of owning 2x V12V + 1x V12VS now, albeit I had a brief 5 month flirt with a P-GT4 before realising my mistake and coming back to the fold.

I have a V8V (AMR), and after 10k miles in it, I also had the same thought about a v12. So i test drove a V12SM, and while it is a fantastic car, so is the V8V. I walked away, as the experience wasnt different enough to justify the price difference, and in fact some aspects (particularly the steering and handling) I actually preferred the V8V.
Just to be clear, I am not saying one is better or worse, just that coming from a position of already owning a sorted V8V, the V12 didnt offer a different enough experience for the price difference.
If I didn't already own a vantage, then I would definitely do the V12!
Personally, I would want to try something completely different!

There is a reason why I agree with you.
The V12 Vantage models are magnificent, desirable, rare cars and a wonderful 'big/small' engineering concept.
However on British roads, I can now only have very brief periods of using full throttle with my 4.7, so I am uncertain whether another 100 or so BHP would in reality, change the actual driving experience very much.
Obviously I have never been tempted to test drive a V12, because of the repeated warnings given on here!

Johnny. Is it safe to assume you enjoy the tinkering and improving along with owning as much as driving?
You’ve certainly put some time in
Over the years I’ve often sold a car as soon as the tinkering comes to an end.
Not so much these days. Trying to stop swapping!
I think I do - every itch I have to scratch gets turned into the best incarnation I possibly can. Hopefully when it sells I can start the search all over again. That’s all part of the joy of ownership. You’ve certainly put some time in

I spotted your registration marks Mike.
A pity, someone probably scrapped the car bearing LUM 8 decades ago, if it was ever issued.
Looks to be an old Leeds issue plate.
Did you try for M21 UMB, although the upper and lower cases get muddled then ?
M7 was available when I bought M2.
I also have M20 on my Phaeton but that’s pretty meaningless other than fits the pattern.
I did have L12MBY years back but let it go.
They’re all cheapo plates. Just a bit of saddo fun.

Also, I did buy a V12 -- an '05 Vanquish S. How about one of those for your next project?
Early Vanquish is a consideration as well. They have rear subframe issues and I have form in getting rear subframes sorted, so it wouldn’t be a problem for me. Lots of man hours yes, but I pretty much know what to do and where to go to get things done.
The other option would be an early V8V. Given that the spannering is part of the fun for me, stripping down one of those babies would be very enjoyable and the early incarnation of the legend, so I’m some respects how it was intended.
Powerflex bushes would be well up on the list. I didn’t get to do those on my 4.7 as it had only done 32,000 and they were all in really good shape.
Mind you, the Vanquish headlights and rear quarter always get my juices flowing…

I considered upgrading to V12V, second gen Vanquish, McLaren 12C but in end chose the DB11. It ticked the boxes of scratching the V12 itch, staying with an Aston, more 'modern' (more robust Mercedes-sourced electrical architecture) and a significant power and torque upgrade. AM did miss a trick with the dash layout on the new cars though, I still prefer the mid-life VH interior and that ridiculously fragile crystal key (sorry, 'ECU'). Upgrading the earlier cars funky rotating sat nav to something similar to what is in the later Bentley Continentals would have been awesome.
I think you should get this: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202106183...
Keep it for a year then sell it to me at half price
