Hi there,

Seems odd to me.
Car appeared on THJ instagram a while ago and in one of the comments Tom mentioned in reply to a comment that he paid a premium for the car and that AM would not sell one to him direct. He said if he had bought it from AM as his personal car he would not flip it.

[url]

But then he's pictured at the AM factory having a tour and then getting a full handover of the car ?

So did someone sell it to Tom and he then visited the factory for the handover. Surely they would know he was going to sell it ?

Me thinks this might just be a PR move by Aston Martin to gain some column inches.

Regards

Tim

Something doesn't add up in that story. In that last screenshot you posted, it's even wearing the TH number plate.

Does the last line "Can be supplied Tax Free for an export sale." not mean that it's "VAT Qualifying" - therefore meaning it's always been owned by a dealer?

He also declares it the first physical car available for sale, and yet this one linked below was for sale at a dealer in Italy over a month ago.

So, more proof that Tom doesn’t let any facts stand in the way of his marketing.

I wonder if the car has been flipped to facilitate a buyer moving to a Spyder order? Odd Aston Martin wouldn’t have a list of back up buyers for any potential customers who get cold feet. The car going straight onto the secondary market doesn’t paint a good picture for the brand.

Then again it could be the original owner couldn’t release the funds to buy? The world is a crazy place at the moment.

Not the same firm. THJ is nothing to do with his dad (Carl works with his dad),and is apparently a decent bloke.

Or they’re seeing cancelled orders (would not be a huge surprise in the current climate) and/or not all originally sold (less likely?)?

Will be interesting to see if AM get hotter on flipping. I understand from a dealer that a few Zagatos were offered to people new to the brand and promptly flipped, and already there’s been the new V12V appearing.

I could not run the film, but did it show any other children leaving school?

Wondered if it might be seeking more publicity, during the school summer holiday.

No, just his own lad, walking through a car park up to the car, then there's another video of them in the car, there was another clip, but I think it was one of the 'only available for 24 hours' types of his Mrs trying to get in and out of it too.
Good luck to him, he uses a lot of 'his' cars and has probably bought at a premium someone's allocation, Aston Martin don't seem to bothered if they are posing for Instagram pictures and driving out the hand over bay on Tom Hartley Jnr number plates, anyone phoned up for a price yet?
