At the end of next week I'm off for a lap of France in the V12VS. In via Cherbourg, down through the Dordogne, along the bottom coast, then back up via Mulhouse to Paris, then Brussels and a quick divert up to Hamburg, before home via Hull.
Car is all serviced and ready to go... If you're out there and you see me then give a flash and a wave!

Be cautious, the French hate the Brits in nice cars.

Nor mine. Just come back from a week in Bordeaux around Saint Emilion and a week in Cap Ferret and apart from the usual crap parking, nothing untoward.

I live in France, so believe me, when it comes to Astons and Jags', the French love them.

Haven't been but it's come up on an a possible AM trip so parking must be good. Two hotels pretty same location I'm told at Gosnay near Bethune just off A26 hour from Calais before A1 to Paris. La Chartreuse (chateau) and a Best Western.

Stayed at La Chartreuse Du Val Saint Esprit albeit 20 years ago but it was really good back then so if it's been consistently maintained it should excellent.

That’s a trip I’d love to do. Would you mind sharing your stopping points/hotels along the route when you have a moment?

Have great trip. I went through a very rural village not far south of Angers and an elderly local lady just stopped ,stared and pointed with her mouth WIDE open as I trundled past at 30kmh
On the whole very pleasant experiences with the French in my aston, especially kids in the more rural areas, they woukd just love it wanting you to rev it out and race you on the push bikes or mopeds

It was very good when we stayed there and we were with a group who were used to good hotels.
Hope it meets expectations.
