I'm torn between one of these and an F-Type (having discounted a 911 as it didn't feel "special" enough in the flesh).

Both having been designed by the same brilliant man.

If arithmetic is of interest to you, then there is one big difference.
Historically an old Aston Martin seems to bottom out with a value of about £20,000, then later the good ones increase.
Old Jaguars seem to keep going down and down. Perhaps because many more are produced.

I think jon39 nailed it..it’s prob a numbers game..both have their strong points..in the end ..I like the exclusivity of the Aston brand…I m a big 911 fan..but they are just everywhere..in this respect alone ..around here anyways..they are super rare…and quite special..

The FType has more tech and creature comfort’s, it’s certainly faster. I would say the handling is on par. I really loved mine but I can see the brand going the same way as MG/Rover as all the investment seems to be going into Landrover. I wanted out before values tanked. The Aston is no doubt higher quality, better materials and feels a lot more special. Every drive is more of an event.

It's a fair point, especially given how scandalously cheap XKR's are these days despite the new price being not too dissimilar to the Vantage
