Registered one week ago and now for sale outside of the AM MD network. At least they aren’t asking $6,000,000 for it though!

That also is barely much off against RRP.

Recently it was suggested on here, that 3% discount seemed to be the limit for retail purchasers of showroom stock vehicles.
If a trade sale obtains (say) 5% below total list and then they advertise below RRP, there seems to be hassle for little, if any reward.
What might be going on?
Interesting to see the following used ‘2025 MY Vantage’ from AML MD (Aston Martin in Bristol) is being advertised on Autotrader but not AML’s official ‘pre-owned’ site (or even AML Bristol’s site). https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202412317...
Not sure why, but have seen similar with low mileage DB12s as well.
BTW, Happy New Year to everyone on this forum, especially those following the ‘ins & outs’ of all things Aston!

At 1,300 miles, not really new, but AML don't want their UK dealers advertising new cars.
The special offer new 'showroom' cars tend to be promoted verbally.
Very different in USA, where brand new cars are all openly advertised.
My understanding for that difference, is that American car buyers like to choose then drive away promptly.
It is annoyinging now that the features and specification details, do not distinguish standard equipment from cost options. There used to be two columns. Very difficult then to establish the new total price. Therefore whether £190,000 (with £10 change) is an attractive price, remains entirely unclear.

Car is on Bristols website. Not sure why, but have seen similar with low mileage DB12s as well.

Looking at advert and photos I suspect whilst some options ( wheels and interior spilt colour perhaps ) not that many so price still looks very high as percentage of original.
Colour great but as Minglar says , wait !
HNY.

Maybe it’s my eyes, but I couldn’t see it on there……. https://preowned.astonmartin.com/en_gb/dealer_1290...I saw the DB12 though…… (looks identical to Vantage from the front).

Also interesting to note that all owner’s manuals for current Astons are officially available, EXCEPT for new new Vantage……. https://www.astonmartin.com/en-gb/owners/owners-gu...

I see you’re looking at the Dick Lovett site for Bristol, however the official Aston Martin Website for Bristol (link above) still doesn’t show this car. You’ve got to ask why it’s not on the official AML site but is on the Dick Lovett (not official AML) site.
Might be a timing issue depending on how / when they are uploaded into the different sites but either way not sure anything particularly “ suspicious “ about it ?alscar said:

Personal thinking is that car is too newly launched for AML to allow it to appear on official site as that could negatively affect perception of depreciation. We know from AML MDs that ‘Stroll & Co’ anxious to reduce depreciation on the newly refreshed cars, and this may be a possible response to that?
As I said, all IMHO. YMMV.

All I would say is that DL is hardly being secretive about their website advert and would suggest that someone within AML probably monitors those anyway.
The general buying public won’t differentiate between DL as an official dealer and the parent.
The price ( to me at least ) doesn’t indicate depreciation at all - indeed if anything it shows a figure which if they were able to sell at would no doubt delight Mr.Stroll.

So why isn’t it on the official AML site - indeed, why are there NO new new Vantages on the official site? All I would say is that DL is hardly being secretive about their website advert and would suggest that someone within AML probably monitors those anyway.

Not strictly true - I only look at the official site (more convenient as all in one place) as there are too many ‘sub sites’ to scan otherwise.alscar said:

Thank you for illustrating my point brilliantly! By keeping new new Vantages off of the official AML second hand site (‘Timeless’), it helps to build a perception that there isn’t a surplus of these cars (e.g. you can only obtain one by completing an official factory order), hence helping to keep prices high - which is exactly what you have seen.As I said - all IMHO.

No idea - maybe not in sufficient numbers for AM to have changed their website format yet ?
Also not all cars at AM dealers on the official website ( there is a GT8 for sale at Works for example ) so maybe SOR might be at play here ?

As above in terms of timing or indeed SOR but I do take your point.
I just think you might be over thinking it.
I think there is however a more general knowledge out there that the new Vantage is very expensive and it is not flying off the shelves.
It will be interesting to see how long that DL car remains for sale at that price point.

Lawrence Stroll wanted to reduce depreciation
(Warren Buffett quote; I buy expensive suits, but the always look cheap on me.)
King Canute wanted to stop the tides
Kier Starmer wanted economic growth
Which would suggest, that saying is the easy part.
