Too tall at the back like so many cars nowadays.

I went for an Astra GTE compare but had to take the photo down.

Because someone working at Aston asked him to?

When the VH Vantage was replaced, for a short period of time we could not tell from the new registration data, whether the cars were VH or M-B, because of the sales overlap.

The practice of alternating the name between DBS and Vanquish, is helpful regarding looking at the UK sales numbers.
Each Vanquish first registration will be the new model car.

However, in the initial period there will be many dealer demonstrators, press cars, employee cars, showroom cars (not road registered), so we will still not be able to judge the number of retail sales.

I wished to like it, but from some angles it just looks not right.
Can't believe that I write this, but I much prefer the Ferrari 12C after having seeing it in flesh at a launch event.

The pick of the range seems to be the DB12, which looks like a proper Aston.
Agree, but let's see it in the flesh.

Happy I took the jump to a new DB12 Volante, that really is a leap forward from the DB11/DBSS imho, and with all the tech on-board can be called almost a daily driver (as soon as AM fixes all the software bugs.........that probably will also be present in the new Vantage and the new Vanquish!),

Drove a S63 convertible (A217) before, and talking about a huge car....,more than 5 meters long, but less wide than a DB12.

The Vanquish dimensions seem ok to me, but the rear design does not work for me (yet), same I feel with the Victor/Vakour.
And don't forget the car will be much more expensive than the DB12 (overhere: an additional 150-200K euro on the DB12 price!).

That’s a lovely colour. Still not so keen on the back end, the huge exhaust trims. Body colour may look better.

Btw not so sure the carbon fibre really is “free” … pretty sure it’s part of what makes it the list price it is!

After watching the presenters lecture about how to get in to a supercar, I don't think the young man realises, that buyers of these cars have probably already successfully got in and out of cars thousands of times.

Comedy gold. - smile

How's about a Kia comparison?? Wouldn't be the first time Miles and Marek had been 'influenced' by far east design...

I can visualise a new topic, 'The best rear end'.
It would be good to see the various contenders, but the Mods would move the topic and end our fun, so I won't bother.

Morgan once had an interesting design.

Add a bubble roof and LS could price it at £1 million. - smile

The rear of the new Vanquish reminds me of the Zagato Vanquish. I would have liked the taillights to be red instead of black as they get lost with that black back panel.

Yeah, once seen it can't be unseen. Definately looks better in body colour though smile

That's a DB12, not a Vanquish. The side strakes and the C pillar are clearly not Vanquish

EDIT: Autocar have now updated the article, presumably after someone else pointed out their error

Interesting, because when the microphone was behind the Vanquish running at idle speed, the sound was identical to my (catalyst 'improved') 4.7 V8 Vantage.

There is bound to be a sound difference, between those cars at higher revs though.

That’s a great spot jonby. Nice to see you back on here. Usual Autocar standards I guess, and I must confess I didn’t read it properly before I posted the link, but the question remains, is it still really necessary? BRM.

Maybe not our regulatory environment, though?

I do think that turbos have been less affected than NA by the exhaust restrictions. I guess turbos have always sounded quite muffled and manufacturers have compensated by making them bassy and with the odd pops and bangs.
