That's a good idea, but if it uses 2G it's being switched off - at least it is in the UK.
The warning light with an integrated SIM card anonymously transfers data to the DGT 3.0 platform, signalling the vehicle’s position without the need for the driver to get out of the vehicle. The connection with the DGT 3.0 platform, enables real-time localization and transmits immediately crucial information about a potentially dangerous situation in road traffic to other drivers’ navigators and to nearby variable public information panels.

The position information is probably applicable only to the Spanish network and was introduced for 2026, if not traveling to Spain, the previous version of the approved V16 without that ability is now available for less than £30, for me its a no brainer, I carry one in both my Vantage & Range Rover, if you break down on a smart motorway, anything that makes you more visible is a good idea.

It’s a good idea. Way more useful than a triangle placed 10ft from the car.
