Greetings

I know there has been many postings of TPMS solutions but has anyone had any joy in obtaining genuine HUF original equipment (OE) TPMS sensors.

I am changing the tyres on my V12 Vantage (not sure on what make yet) so beforehand and as the original TPMS sensors are some 9 years old I thought that it would also be best to change them at the same time.

I will not mention company names but last week I ordered 4 genuine HUF TPMS sensors, they arrived the next day and they were genuine but the manufacturing date was June 2017 only 3 months newer than the ones I am trying to replace so they went back.

Spoke with a highly recommended supplier of many things automotive so again ordered some HUF RDE 048V21 OE TPMS sensors they again arrived the next day but included a leaflet stating that the maximum vehicle speed is 130MPH, still in discussion with this supplier but at the moment they will probably get returned.

So has anyone (someone must have) purchased OE TPMS sensors if so what type and where from.

Kind Regards

Greathey

I have installed the delete kit and every month I manually check the pressure.

I apologize if it's off topic but the tpms are really sensitive to the point I started hating the car.

I have put a great deal of time & effort in resolving TPMS on my previous Vantage and became quite an expert on the matter together with vernierMike. Sadly, I cannot comment on OE sensors, as I think the only way to get them is through the dealer and their nonsensical price for them.

I can suggest these threads where Mike and I explain our findings. My advice is to not go back to OE ones (both old and new systems used on the Vantage are programmable with a bit of effort), but of course I might be not fully aware of your particular situation.

Shifty, I’m assuming your sensors are the later version, the sort that configure themselves once installed and the wheels are turning. Not the old SmarTire ones with the coloured rings which need to be programmed to the control box. It may be worth getting in touch with Aston Installations for some advice. They fitted and programmed Autel sensors to my car which has the older system, but I think they have experience of the later versions too. If my memory serves me well I think Nick/nickv12 may had some fitted by them recently to his Cosmopolitan Yellow V12VS. HTH a bit and fingers crossed. BRM.

Many thanks for all of the replies.

After many days spent on google with lots of companies recommending various suppliers for TPMS sensors for Aston Martin I sent an email to Wheel Mania, if you follow Mat Armstrong on You Tube he obtains all of his wheels from same company.

They recommended T-Pro Hybrid 3.5 TPMS sensors which are manufactured by Hamerton.

I subsequently contacted Hamerton to confirm that the TPMS sensors would fit and they confirmed yes they would and more importantly that they work up to 330Km/h. They have to be programmed to the vehicle this can be completed by the supplier or downloaded by a free app to your mobile and completed by yourself.

The original Huf sensors which I now have one on my desk have been way superseded and Huf recommend the S346 part code 45144000 which is actually a RDE048V21 OE replacement for the majority of AM cars post SmartTire system.

Various websites offer this TPMS sensor which I will not name but if you do a search many are based in Europe, major distributors of Huf in the UK do not have any supplies of this sensor as it is being replaced by a universal sensor the Huf UVS4060

So Hamerton sensors have been ordered at £45 each, AM wanted £158 each.

All I have to do now is decide on what brand of tyres I will be replacing as Blackcircles are all out of P Zero rear tyres so it may be continentals all round.

I am 100% with you on this. I had the sensors on my 2006 DB9 with the stick-on display and that all went straight in the bin. Looked like something from Halfrauds. Any self respecting driver should be capable of checking and adjusting tyre pressures, as well as checking oil and coolant and knowing when to activate lights and wipers!

That's the answer. Just stick a screwdriver in it, or whatever the trick is, and save yourself a load of money and faff.

NB: 130mph in Birmingham strikes me as optimistic wink

I may be wrong, and if anyone knows any differently please let me know, but I thought the defeat cable could only be used on the earlier SmarTire system, ie the one with coloured rings on the valve stems and the small control box located underneath the glovebox. As far as I am aware the later version, ie Beru or HUF were self calibrating and didn’t have the same box. I assume the control unit in that case may be hidden away somewhere. But I may be completely way off the mark. BRM.

I'm another that went the delete route. 2009 V8V that never had any issues with the kit fitted, simple plug and play and reversible should you ever wish to go back to the function of TPMS.

Putting new front tyres on tomorrow just removed the two wheels, triggered the new sensors with my Autel tool and placed them on top of brake calipers turned ignition on and 3 seconds later they were showing.

So £180.00 against AM dealer pricing of £630.

Edited to add:- The TPMS sensors I have described are not the SmarTire sensors, i.e. the ones with coloured bands on the valves.

You cannot delete the later sensors as it is a different system all together, typically the Huf TPMS sensor batteries can last for up to 10 years but if you are changing tyres then it is worth changing the TPMS sensors.

Just for clarity, the Autel sensors communicated with the car and show the pressures and temps on the cars displays?

Hi there, quick question regarding your replacement of the TPMS sensors, you mentioned on an earlier post that "downloaded by a free app to your mobile and completed by yourself." yet here it seems you have a dedicated Autel tool, can you confirm if you used or if you know an app on your phone can do the necessary or if you need a dedicated piece of equipment to pair these sensors? Thanks for any more info here.

Annoyingly I stupidly replaced my aging Bridgestone's with Conti SC7s (which are great btw) all around but didn't think to replace the sensors on my 10 year old Vantage S, now one of the sensors is giving a warning.

Have a look at:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIXu-HXTjcY

The Autel TS501 scanner that I have can copy existing TPMS units and program new TPMS units, by placing the tool near the existing TPMS units will indicate existing battery life.

See:- https://www.obdprice.co.uk/collections/tpms-servic...

Homerton sensors specifically the T-Pro Hybrid 3.5 will fit all Astons but not any with the SmartTire system.
