The GT8 was homologated without the secondary cats (thats how it got its extra few hps). Removal of the vantage's secondary cats will have no impact on your MOT, as it will be in GT8 spec. The primary cats are the same on both GT8 and other vantages of the era.
Thanks. I didn't appreciate that the GT8 used exactly the same airboxes and engine calibration as the V8S

My V12VS has the AM secondary decat pipes to which I have added a CCCharger remote. Perfect mix of full and wholesome sound when you want it but near silent at 80mph cruise with the valves shut.

Personally, I’d start with the remote and then secondary decat if you still want more.

Secondary decat fitted since 6 months old and has never been an issue come MOT.

Thanks all, I have the CCcharger module already, it only increases noise under 4000rpm when the valve would normally be closed.

I will start with cat replacement pipes and see how that changes it, it ll probably be enough as I don t want it really loud!

Is there much noise difference between 200 cell cats and cat replacement pipes?

Thanks!

re noise difference

upgraded manifolds (no primary cats) with secondary 200 cell cats would be louder than keeping the manifolds with primary cats and secondary decat

If you went with secondary decat and wanted a little quieter you can get silenced decat pipes which give some of the noise

If you dont like sound you can sell them on and recoup some of the cost, so at worse it costs you a few hundred quid to experiment with the sound smile

Couldn’t recommend the 200 cell cats enough (and with primary delete). It’s just perfect.
