Ran a V8 Dec'05 to July'06. Only went 'cos GT3 arriving soon. Fabulous car and much missed. Got a roadster on order for the spring so may be back! Hence I can be found nosing around the Aston posts from time to time!

You only posted the GT3 bit evil, just to remind me how long I have to wait, mutter chunter!

Although I'm still loving the Aston, despite a truculent 2nd gear that won't engage when cold & a rattle from the rear parcel shelf. I'm leaving them until first service in Novemeber, as I don't want to be parted from the car at the moment..sad but true!

Don't bother to tell your dealer about 2nd gear - "they all do that sir!" V8 well and truly casting it's spell over you too then by sound of it. Sorry, forgot some of us have got to wait a wee bit longer for our GT3! Must go - there's a Ford GT on the drive and I suppose I really must take it for a trundle. It's a hard life but I can handle it, etc.etc.................

Great, another 'track car' that you cannot take on many trackdays in the UK. My mate had a 360 CS and he was banned from most days apart from the occasional noisey day at Donnington or Silverstone.

PS, Grant, it take some time for the 2nd gear to bed in, mine now has the same level of 'chunkeyness' as the others, it took about 5000 miles to get run in it seems.

Cheers for the info, mine has done 3k miles now, but unfortunately seems to be getting worse rather than better!

Grant - as you know I did about 6K in mine and it never got any better! Cold mornings made 1st to 2nd a nightmare. Dealer was firm that nothing could be done. Having said that it didn't get worse either - perhaps you're just noticing it more? Apparently latest cars benefit from modified Ricardo box. Just 'enjoy' being an unpaid developement driver like I did! Re your earlier post on GT - I thought the headroomm was a struggle!
