RE: Aston Martin Lagonda - Exclusive Pictures
Discussion
It's big, it's obnoxious and it looks particularly vulgar. If Aston Martin play their cards right it will be a huge hit in places like Russia, Kazakhstan and China where vast amounts of 'new' money and a complete lack of taste rule.
Good luck to them, it's just a shame that it won't be built on a UK production line and give us some new jobs in the process.

Lagondas are supposed to be ugly and unique so it's a bullseye.
Why the Chrysler 300 grill instead of an Aston grill, though? That makes no sense.
I think you will find that in their hay day of the 20's 30's and 40's they made the most attractive cars on the road. Why the Chrysler 300 grill instead of an Aston grill, though? That makes no sense.

Correct, having travelled recently and regularly to all of these three places, it will go down a treat....but only if it has a massive price tag, in fact the bigger the better. Moscow is still the only place where I see Maybachs parked up 5,6 & 7 at a time. Good luck to them, it's just a shame that it won't be built on a UK production line and give us some new jobs in the process.
There's all sorts in there. I can see a bit of Saab (rear pillar) a smattering of Bangle 5 series (headlamps), some 300C, a touch of Audi and even a bit of Phantom Coupe about the hind quarters in that profile shot.
Did you get to stand next to it? It'd be interesting to see how it scales - presumably that's a normal sized door behind it, in which case it looks roughly Q5 sized. Perhaps not as big as a Cayenne?
I wouldn't say I like it yet, but it I don't hate it. Could see it turning into a guilty pleasure.

It's ugly. Pretty much every poster agrees.
But....
If they can make this and turn a profit selling to folks in Russia, China and so on and that means that Aston Martin can continue making the Vantage V8 and V12, DB9, DBS, proposed DBX and other beautiful supercars then ok, it's a necessary evil.
Would not catch me dead in one of these SUV lagondas, but so be it....

hmm i am the only one to like it ? This car will sell - first time i saw a Cayenne i thought it was an Audi A3 on steroids and the car sold well.......
Lets wait and see......
Cant believe i'm NOT agreeing with you, but I think you may be the only one.Lets wait and see......
And I'm not sure it will sell- if the only buyers are going to be "new money", how many of them have heard of a lagonda? Porsche yes, Aston yes, but Lagonda?
the name wont mean anything to them, which means it wont mean anything to the people they are tryign to impress....
...I bet it doesnt even have an LCD dashboard....

Its not fit to wear an AM badge. Hideous mistake.
Good job that it won't then. Yeah, it's ugly...but, dear PH, are you softening your opinion because you were going in the VIP entrance? Are you worried you will not be invited back if you wrote an article entitled, "Dog-ugly Lagonda gets bunged outside"?
Just joshing - but I am guessing that it HAS to be seen in the flesh in order to make the dimensions work. That gaping mouth looks the size of a house in pictures.
P~
PH- You owe me a new monitor.
I inocently opened this story curious to see an exciting new AM and on seeing the 3/4 Front shot of this pile of poo was forced to projectile vomit towards my screen forcing it back off the desk onto the floor, it is now broken.
I accept Cash, Cheques, Credit and Debit cards, Bank transfers and occasionally payment in kind.
You may sue AM to recover your costs but thats not my problem. ;-)

Dare to be different?????
It looks different.....revolutionary different in fact....which is why I rather like it.
It doesn't conform to the norm.....if it did everyone would be moaning about how such an expensive car from such a strong marque was diluted and unimaginitive.
I'd certainly have it over any porka....cos the family options from them are fugly.

Strange though it may seem I can see this going down a bomb in China, maybe Russia too.
After all the Chinese wealthy will appreciate another quality British brand name on top of Rolls Royce who are targeting the country's rich.
..and it beats buying their own version of a Phantom which the Lagonda seems to echo in "style & appeal"
