Driving down the rain lashed M40 this morning for a meeting in Oxford my day was made by spotting a DB9 in the middle lane (lhd but with UK plates).

This is the first time I've seen one on the road and it looked gorgeous. Its stance and proportions are spot-on. Its become my new 'must have' car!

Anyone know when the production versions are going to hit the road?

Guess I saw the same car, 53 reg LHD dark silver/grey, coming out of the carwash at Sainsbury's last weekend. This was in Leamington Spa, just up the road from Gaydon, Aston Martins base. Looked & sounded awesome

They are just doing final production and design usability studies on them at the moment. So the cars you saw were pre production. A few more will hit the roads in February to broaden the pre prod feed back but customer cars I believe will be out around mid year.

Things have come on a long long way since the DB7. The DB9 is being properly and comprehensively tested for everything before it goes in full production. There is nothing about the DB9 that won't have been comprehenively looked at before they go on sale. Watch out rest of the world, Aston Martin are comming.

A batch of FEU (Field Evalution Units) cars were built just before Christmas and were tested on Christmas day and boxing day. There was technical issues with one as it had ABS and traction control issues and didn't leave the factory and another was suitable 'hedged' and needs new front wheels and a bumper LOL. These cars are still no where near the standard the production cars will be as they are still working on things such as the door slam, security, water proofing, crash testing and lots beside. There are also a few pre-FEU cars floating around Gaydon.
