Autocar and the new Aston Martins

This weeks Autocar ( just been reading it in the smallest room) has an article on the new Astons coming.

Now the piece makes an interesting point.

The new DB9, the current Vanquish, and the soon to arrive AM V8, all basically look EXACTLY THE SAME !

At a distance, or cruising past in the street, you would have to look twice and be a bit of an anorak to tell the difference.

Yet a Vanquish is , what, £160k and the new V8 will be £70/80k.

I must say I think the DB9 in particular is a very lovely looking piece of kit.

But, with them all looking the same...

Is this a mistake on Astons part?

I must be an anorak then, 'cos I can spot the differences

Personally, I've no problem with the V8 and DB9 looking similar. The fact that one's a two seat V8 and the other a 2 plus 2 V12 is enough for me. However, I would like to see the Vanquish differentiated more from the DB9. This needs at least 500bhp to be worth £60k more. May be Aston will push the design envelope a little more with the Vanquish replacement. I hope so anyway.

BTW, did you see the renedering on the Aston "invite" thingie in this week's Auto Express? Mr Fisker really shouldn't tease like that!
