Nice result there !

I've been waiting to get out and start mine but the weather has been dreadful this week.

Also Mark..

Check out this product: "PRITT GLUE DOTS - REPOSITIONABLE"

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/-2-packs-Pritt-Glue-Dots-Rep...

I use these now and then and I have yet to test them in the Blades (awaiting a dry day) but they might make for a quick and easy method to attach the blades closely to the lights without any worry of them not coming off.

I've not tried the velcro tabs yet, but thought they might be more sticky and introduce a gap when testing.

Anyway.. just a suggestion that might be worth checking out for you.

Ok, these were fitted quickly between showers using the glue dots as posted above.. these allow for easy positioning and removal etc..
I tried two placements and thought I'd post the preliminary pics here first.

I was somewhat rushing to avoid rain and also I was bloody freezing.. so excuse any slight alignment issues.

Also the car was penned in so couldn't get decent angles.. this will be re-addressed as soon as possible :-)

Blades were finished as they arrived so do not match any colours at this time.

Blades fitted along the centre line of the lights.

Blade along centre line.

Blades fitted above centre line of lights.

Blade above centre line.

Att: DB7 pilot

Hello,

Just signed up. Really like the work for the DB7 tailights. Is it possible to post all six variations as applied to the tailights in one shot for comparison shopping? Thanks in advance.

That's great to see guys. Some progress!

LBS, Tim, Excellent finish to the blades and well gapped, particularly at the boot end. I experienced the same with someone who thought they knew the DB7 shape with my set. It wasn't until pointed out that the blades became obvious. I'm quite keen to see a rear three quarter photo of your car with top down, if you get a chance, seeing as you've the only Volante with these things on so far.

GTDB7, Phil, Thanks for the 'Pritt Glue Dot' idea. I'll hold that as a reserve if people can't work with the Velcro option. ( I have miles of the Velcro strips from work stuff, so it seemed the easiest option.)

Your test: Definitely not that colour! The mid line trial is the one that looks right to me. We'd always set these things out to work on that line and the 'above centre line' option seems a bit 'pinched' at the indicator end of the lens. I'd like to see a three quarter shot of both trials if you have them to see where the bullnosed end finishes in relation to the start of the curve on the top part of the light cowl.

66Toaster, I hadn't considered that we may need to visually summarize what we've done so far, so yes, give me a few days and I'll post a series of shots on here, Set 2 through to Set 6.

Tim and Phil, these shots make working the weekends on them worthwhile.

Mark.

As requested some more photos (with and without the roof). It still puts a smile on my face every time I open the garage door

ahh right,, it suits the lines of the DB7 nicely.

It's sort of a round colour as opposed to a square colour.. if you follow my meaning.

LBS,

I couldn't have asked for better shots in a nicer setting, perfect. I must make the effort and get down to at least one of your South West meets to see your car for real. Thanks Tim.

66TOASTER, your summary of the blades I'll be making in future. Set 1 was a start point and purely for a test, so I wont be making that one and the 'bling wing' was a folly.

SET 2.

SET 2.

SET 3.

SET 3.

SET 4.

SET 4.

SET 5.

SET 5.

SET 6.

SET 6.

Sets 5 & 6 are far and away the most popular versions, with set 6 just ahead as the favourite, which is the set I have on my car. Please e-mail me for details.

Mark.

Ok, I have got a photo that shows the rear light tinting in it's true form.

You can clearly see the individual sections and in any light setting all lights work perfectly and can be seen.

I just had to get a shot with a much better camera as mine always darkened the tints for some reason.

I'm currently doing some interior work on the car and then onto subframe and top mount bushes.. once these jobs are done and I've had it re-tracked I'll get right on with painting up the blades and fixing them in place.

So for those who might have thought I've gone quiet.. I'll get there as soon as possible :-)

Phil,
Your car does look purposeful on that rolling road. No rush to see the blades fitted to your car, (but I admit I'm quite keen to see them on your GT) I know there are others out there who've fitted them, so don't be shy, post up some pics on here.

Well, the story continues...

As the blades are cosmetic they keep being sent to the back of the queue.

I now have to do my Plugs and Coils.. :-/

So,, interior work is done

I've part done the top mount bushes (one side)

After the weekend I'll get the other side done and then hopefully my parts will be gathered for the top end job on the engine.

There is a special offer locally for the tracking, half price, so that's my goal.. Get the geo done before end of month.

So, all being well, it should be sometime around the first week in December when I can finally go get the blades painted up and fitted.

I'll send you a link to a few videos of it on that Dyno,, I took a couple and some unknown person took some too.

Send me those video links for the dyno Phil. I've been keeping up to speed on your current issues on AMOC, so yes, I can see where your priorities should be right now..Good luck with all of that. thumbup

Finally, due to weather and other things I have the bushes and wheel geometry completed.

Still got a few small tasks but I am now making tracks into having the blades painted up to match the car.

In fact I'm txt'ing the paint guy now ;-)

So Mark, watch this space,, I promise to have them completed and fitted before the end on this year.. haha

Phil,
I'd noticed between here and AMOC the amount of work you've been doing. Lookiing at the polybush route myself.

Since last September I've made sets for Australia, Bahrain and the Emirates, one in France and a few over here, it's up in the twenties now. The latest set to Italy has gone awry in the post, hopefully to be found soon, other than that everyone seems happy with them so far.

I'd always assumed that it'd be this site or AMOC where most enquires came from, but it's been Facebook and through the image hosting sites that most people find me, or find this thread. It's enjoyable doing them..when I have time.
