I have a 2010 Rapide and the tyre pressure monitoring system has come on, flashes yellow then goes solid yellow.i have checked and reset all 4 tyre pressures today, then driven approximately 15 miles, but the light will not go out. Any suggestions?
Thank you Paul
Surely this is a case of just RTFM.Thank you Paul

Also, re OEM parts - do you know which manufacturer/model these parts were taken from - guessing Ford but would be great to know make and model so i can source the part

Hi.Regards.

The pump is made by ZF, it looks generic but has an Aston wing logo cast into the casing, so it could well have stuff like pressure relief valving or pump / pulley ratio differences compared to something which looks identical on the outside off another car but without the Aston logo. I’d play it safe and buy the OEM part.

Nothing in the manual at all, to suggest how to reset the TPMS, only check the tyres and drive for a few miles.
Didn’t work!
HiDidn’t work!
Press the trip button on indicator stalk to cycle through to the graphic on the right hand dashboard to bring up each individual tyre pressure reading, you’ll then be able to figure out which sensor is playing up. On a 2010 Rapide the sensors are new type which don’t need the serial number coding into the module to make them work as the previous tyresmart system requires. On your car it’s a case of fitting the sensor and the system will configure itself when on the move for the first time.
Because the system is expensive to keep working when internal batteries fail, most owners disconnect the box so the light doesn’t illuminate, but on a Rapide it will need the feature removing from the cars software configuration file to delete it - a simple laptop job

Hi Mike.
I bought original Aston power steering pump, tensioner and fead belt - it's the transducer/sensor I'm after. The part in AML catalogue is exactly same number as a Ford pressure sensor - it looks identical - but it's more than 10x the price of the Ford part via the AML dealer(!?!?!?). The guy at my local dealers parts dept admitted most of these items were lifted straight out of Ford's spare parts bin - just trying to save a few hundred quid and hoping I don't need to feed the AML greed!
Let me know your thoughts.

Good evening, gentlemen!
I am all new to the Aston Martin world, as i bought a 2009 V8V manual 4.7 with 35k kilometres.
Have it for 10 days now and put some 3k kilometres on it so far ... and i like it very much, i have to say. Wanted to buy one for years, but could not find a decent example in an interesting/non-black/greyish colour.
The car ran absolutely perfect with one exemption, that i experienced twice on different occasions :
When trying to accelerate quickly from approx. 2-3.5k rpm onwards, it felt like power was cut for a short moment and no propulsion was possible. It wasn‘t a situation where any systems like traction control or ESP were to be applied ... just plain acceleration. No lights went on, no warning text. I could not reproduce this behavior at all. The car continued to operate flawlessly after this happened.
Any ideas, what this could be? A failing clutch would behave different, wouldn‘t it? I would have expected a reving engine in that case, but in my case it felt more like a sudden cut in engine power. Fuel pump maybe, or any issues with the electric systems or the ignition?
Will there be any codes deployed, that i could have read out with an OBD tool, although no warning lights were showing?
Best regards from Germany!
Tom

Well I prefer the climate of my home town, St Tropez is not as glitzy as you might think, especially off-season!
I should think St Ives is as unbearable as St Tropez during July and August!
I believe one of your Swiss clients went for Inconel manifolds on his V12VS AMR which had me thinking of doing the same.
How easy is it to do a primary decat? Do you think I can ask my dealer to do it? Will a primary decat make it even louder? Not particularly want to make it louder as I think it is loud enough with the Performance Pack!
Indeed, one of our lads went to Cornwall north coast and said it was like sardines in a can walking along the main promenades! I toured your neck of the woods when testing for BMW at Miramas, very nice, especially whilst on BMW expenses. Monaco in a Mini a year before production release was much fun, the car got more attention than multi million $$ yachts!I should think St Ives is as unbearable as St Tropez during July and August!

A dealer will unlikely be able to perform a primary decat at anything close a cost effective price and will not be able to remap the ECU. It’s a Bamford Rose workshop only job or a ‘fly n fit’ - but we’ll hammer the expenses!
I have three questions regarding primary cat delete.
1. So are you saying the delete consists of taking the cats out, removing what's inside and bolt them back on?
2. I find the sound with the Performance Pack already quite loud. Will the removal of the primaries make it even louder as I think that might be unbearable on a long trip. Also the noise might be that of a race car. Too loud for the road? What do you think?
3. You say you could flyn'fit. How much would the cost be? And is there anything else that needs to come out to do the job? Engine, transmission? Is this something you could do in my unequipped garage?
Well actually more than 3 questions , thanks for your time.

One thing it might be is a faulty brake pressure transducer fooling the ecu to cut power. Its a £60 component so could be worth changing just to eliminate - it could be many things of course - but this one has been common.
Tschüß
Thanks for answering, Ken!
Meanwhile i did some research here on PH and found out, that i am not alone with this plague

My question: Since this was some time ago ... is it a valid assumption, that there is a cure for this, known to the Aston Martin workshops?
Best regards

Yet another issue occured ... when turning in and driving through a curve there is a squeal sounding like break squeal, although i am not applying the break.
Of course i have the usual breaking squeal, when braking from approx. 10mph down to zero ... but where does that squeal come from, while i am turning in ... regardless whether it is left or right turns.
Any ideas?

Hello Felonious,
what model is yours exactly?
Had a chat with a recent Vanquish owner, who had the same problem, but his engine was cutting out above 5k rpm ... so very much different from my experience. He had it cured with some new cam shaft sensors.
My car is in right now for a OBD-readout, a check of the Software and a swap of the barometric sensor, as it is kind of small money spent. Will fill up the tank after that and try again to provoke the cut outs. My feeling is, that it might have to do with the tank and its peripheries, because i could not replicate the fault at all with an emptier tank.
Good luck and please keep as updated on that one.

December 2016 V12VS with 7k miles on it.
My comment related to the squeaky brakes rather than the power cut-out. But I'll still update on the squeaking thing, and keep a watchful eye on the power cut-out issue, which frankly sounds a lot more annoying.

For the cut out, next time it happens. Stop immediately when safe to do so, pull out the canister purge line into inlet manifold (on left side at front on a quick release connector) and see if you can observe any trace of neat fuel.
Docking station glitches have been known to cause a momentary cut out.
I doubt you’ll see any directly related codes to this issue and it’s more a case of data logging with a laptop at the moment the glitch occurs and identify any rouge behaviour of a certain parameter and then understand what the fix is, rather than a code directing you to a solution.
For the brake squeal, if from rears, is there any play in handbrake caliper mounts? The plastic bushes can wear resulting in caliper movement under certain conditions causing squeal. It’s possible to insert new bushes and rebuild the caliper rather than renew the entire caliper
