I forgot to mention that the vehicle originally came from the UK in Surrey, so the car is VAT qualified.
That's good to know smile I'd probably add that to the advert too. I have a deposit down on a lease at the moment, otherwise I'd be seriously considering this.

I really want to make one of these my next car...it's so perfect for all my needs!

Yours in a good price for the low miles. And I agree it is a special car.

If it was over here I would be working out how I could move my 'new car deadline' forward and come take a look [sorry, I know you don't want to hear that]!

Maybe to help the sale, pop up a few extra pics [engine bay, more of the interior etc] and brake down the service history as this would be important to me...I know the 60k one is a big service but it's dependent of years too [is that the major service you mention].

Good luck mate. I will be keeping my eye on it!
Thank you for the kind words.

Like I said I have all the service history and information if people require, I have got someone very interested right now, but I am still more than happy to send over details if you want them
If you could mate, that would be great...the first thing I did after looking at this thread was check out flight costs from Brum smile

I noticed your car has been mentioned on the Lexus Owners Club forum too.

Cheers.

I love these cars and would definitely buy one at the right price but I think they are expensive for what they are and that is why they take so long to sell. I remember a 2009 ISF sold on ebay for about 18500 5 years ago and at that point they were good value but to me the prices now are very inflated. You can buy a normal 2008 IS (not F model) for under 2 grand now, obviously a fantastic car like the ISF commands a significant premium but I honestly don't think they are worth the money buyers are charging for them. They are very popular and desirable cars in limited numbers so it looks like it is the prices putting buyers off otherwise they would be selling quickly.

I think some buyers would possibly prefer something like this due to the fact it includes a warranty and comes from a dealer with similar mileage to the car in the OP and is cheaper as well.

Although the location is not ideal as its a special car buyers won't mind travelling so shouldn't be a deal breaker and its also advertised well. If you need to sell quickly I think you might need to reduce the price a bit or accept it will probably take a while to find a buyer for the car. We buy any car would give you 15750 so as i private sale I would be aiming for between 16000-17000.

I think the prices people are asking are comparable to the equivalent M3 or C63 aren't they [bar the few I've seen at Lexus dealers at £30k+]?

Being super rare and supposedly very reliable, I think £18k for a 2008 car with low miles is pretty spot on. A Lexus warranty can also be bought for the ISF for under £900 for 2 years - how much is a yearly warranty on an M3 or C63 [grand plus I'd imagine].

I know on the Lexus Owners Club someone was doing a bit of research on an ISF up for sale...not sure if it was that black one?

I agree that it compares favorably to the M3 and C63, especially due to the reliability but what I don't understand is that the reasons you state above don't seem to apply to any other car in the Lexus range. We have owned 7 Lexus in total so unfortunately I know full well that any other 9 year old car in the Lexus range is essentially worthless but for some reason the German brands are still seen as desirable and hold their money a lot better. At 8 years old I was getting trade bids as low as 4500 on a low mileage mk3 GS430 but you could make the same arguments stated above that it is more reliable, very rare and higher spec than the German equivalents but for some reason the Lexus is seen as undesirable and the German brands are not and this seems to apply to every model in the Lexus range bar the ISF.

When you go to the junkyards, the newest Lexus you will likely see is 15 or more years old.

Nissans..........a little newer and the trend is for the lower line cars.

Contrast that with me seeing Volvos, Audis, and Saabs only a few years old without a dent in the body or scratch in the upholstery.

I don't know what you would put that down to other than the tolerances and assembly procedures being more meticulously maintained by Lexus compared with most other brands, even those that purport to be exclusively upmarket. Lexus models have their faults, but it's rare when it stops the car from being driven.
