Navara NP300 adblue

A year and 12000miles into Navara ownership that's the truck filled up with Adblue for the 8th time.
Despite being told I would get 7000 miles per tank, this clearly isn't the case.
My local dealer informed me today that I should get 120 miles per litre; 2,040 miles per 17 litre tank.
This was not as per what I was sold and I really don't have time to visit the dealer every 300 miles for a check up!
I assume there must be many other owners with the same issues, therefore I am looking to group together and take action against Nissan. Any others interested please get in touch. I'm fed up with some stuck up service manager telling me different stories every time and thinking I'm stupid enough to believe them.

Wasn't there some hoohaa on some French cars where they recommended only filling up when the fuel tank was near empty? If you topped up a fuel tank with fuel then the computer would say: "Tank refilled - inject another load of adblue."
uhh? I have had the dash tell me there isn't enough urea to cover the tank of fuel, but as long as there is enough urea in the tank to sort the emissions out at that moment it won't de-rate, you can fill it when ever you fancy.
I bought a new Navara a couple of months ago, I'm sure the salesman told me that it would need ad-blue every 6k miles.
Why would you need to go to a dealer to top it up (I haven't needed to yet) there's a cap on the drivers side and you can buy the stuff from petrol stations.
What other problems have you had? I've been away for most of the time I've owned mine so it hasn't really been used.

Missus has a Tiguan that uses it and the dealer did tell us, but didn't know much about it at all. For a while the information about AdBlue was different every time I looked at the VW website. Her car is doing about 500 miles per litre.
I did read that some business users who weren't told about it where handing cars back, particularly because it's a right faff to fill as the filler in the boot floor and the spare has to come out. I buy 5 litre containers of it and drop them in when it's a nice day.

Nissan demand that you take it to them every 300miles so they can do 'checks'. I don't see why I should pay for excessive Adblue consumption. Nissan claim it is new technology, however as pointed out by previous posts it is used in tractors, lorries etc for many years. Faults:
Dealer supplied vehicle with a huge crack in hard top spoiler hoping we wouldn't notice.
Multiple issues with vehicle not locking.
Hard top not closing securely. Nissan unable to fix after several attempt, however RAC sorted in 2mins.
Car tries to pull off despite foot hard on brake.
Car fails to move from a standing start, however it then shoots off all of a sudden.
Engine warning light comes on and off.
Oil low warning comes on despite oil level being fine.
Rear view camera stopped working.
Radio/nav display cuts out and just freezes on the Nissan logo.
Excessive Adblue consumption.

I didn't even know they used adblue, my NP300 is 18 months old with almost 17,000 on the clock. Don't think mine must use it.
I’m in exactly the same position regarding time owned and the mileage covered in mine. We had the earliest trucks which don’t have adblu tanks.I have to say; my truck has been faultless and utterly brilliant so far, just to add balance to the topic
I had high hopes after reading various reviews and articles, however out of the 30+ vehicles I've owned this has been by far the most unreliable and biggest let down of any to date.
A vehicle that accelerates when your braking is dangerous and Nissan don't care.....'we can't get it to fault so it must be fine'.
After some research it appears that Nissan have had this issue with other vehicles and have never been able to resolve the issue.
Anyone any experience of forcing the dealer to take a dangerous vehicle back?

Mines on about 12k miles now, filling it up every 3.5k or so with add blu. I asked Nissan about it and apparently it's within spec.
Apart from that and some squeaky brakes it's been pretty good. The Bluetooth music can have an annoying lag when skipping music, so you press the button and noting happens, press it again and it skips then plats a bit of a song and skips again.
Overall I'm quite happy with it, my work use an older L200 and the Navara is about a million miles ahead of that.
