Anyone out there got or had a Pathfinder and prepared to share their experiences, good and bad?

Thinking of getting a late-ish one, sub 50k miles, most likely with the 2.5 dci engine and auto (most seem to be this anyway) and high spec if poss, probably Tekna.

Anything to particularly look out for / be wary of / worthwhile extra to have etc?

I’m surprised there are not more of them about as they seem to be a decent, large and fairly well equipped 7 seater. We have 3 growing lads who need full-size seats plus occasional need for additional seating so I’m also considering a (higher mileage and older) Mercedes GL for similar money, c £15k. I reckon the GL would be more expensive to run but may well retain more value. We have either already owned or tried XC90, Q7, X5 etc too but any thoughts or alternative suggestions (NOT people carriers!), welcome.

Thank you. smile

It has the same chassis as a Navara, so could corrode/snap. Nissan are not treating them in the same way as the Navara, so you will be on your own. You could of course weld it yourself if needed in the same way you might a Land Rover.

They are however very comfy and useable. After having a Navara with the chassis issue it did put me off buying a Pathfinder.

Ah! Didn’t know about that - fair to say that would be a bit of an “issue” then...?

What sort of age/budget are you looking at?, if you’re looking for a 7 seat Japanese 4x4 a Shogun or Landcruiser would probably be a better bet, Pathfinders are nice, it’s just the chassis thing that has always put me off.
