Toyota HIACE 2006 - Central Locking Problem

When I press unlock on my electric key fob - all doors unlock and I can hear the clicks (all doors open).
However, when I press lock, nothing happens,
Unless I open the side access panel door. In this case everything locks! except this door of course.
When I close all doors and manually insert the key into the drivers door and turn, it locks every door including the side access panel door....
I have no idea how to correct this problem? please help...
