Been checking auto trader uk for some warm hatchbacks for around £5000 give or take.

Wondered if theres anything in that price range in the jdm world thats worth a look to import?

I would suggest a Toyota blade master g as I saw one for sale around 6k but I can't find the link to it. Other than that I'd look at a ep3 civic type r

Sorry for the late reply.

Fully imported for £5k wont open choices hugely but there are some JDM odd balls you could import. Without doing too much checking on price, although I shouldn't be far away, you have:

Daihatsu Boon x4 - Will be rough/repaired/high km for this price level, and now very rare. 4wd, 900cc turbo 133bhp
Daihatsu Charade Detamaso - Getting older, early 90's, but certainly different. 125bhp, 900kgs
Honda Torneo SiR-T - Not a hatch, but this slips under the radar a bit, 200bhp
Mazda Familia S-Wagon - Old 323 I think, 2.0 170bhp, 4wd and manual available, again, slips through, sell for buttons
Mitsubishi Colt Ralliart R - 163bhp, extra welds, was featured recently on Pistonheads, dont know why but I like these
Nissan Primera Wagon W20V - 204bhp, manual, estate (sorry, not technically a hatchback)
Nissan Juke Nismo/16GT - Auto only, 200bhp/190bhp, might just be in budget, not a fan personally and can be bought here
Nissan Micra/March 12SR - This one draws me in, 110bhp from a special little 1.2 and manual only.
Subaru Forester Cross Sport Turbo - Talked about on this forum a lot, manual available but doable for budget, 220bhp I think
Subaru Exiga GT - Auto only, but cheap and 225bhp
Suzuki Swift Sport - Can get them here, but might be spec benefits in the JDM version, I dont know enough
Toyota Will VS - Available with the 190bhp 6 speed manual
Toyota Corolla Runx or Allex - As above, basically a corolla here with the 190bhp
Toyota Corolla Fielder - This is the same again, but estate, I would like one. 190bhp, 6 speed and 1150kg
Toyota Rav4 Type G - Not a hatch, but had a 2.0 beams 180-bhp and manual available iirc
Toyota Sprinter Carib/Corolla Touring Wagon - Estate with 165bhp, big fan of these, rare now
Toyota Altezza Gita - Estate/Hatch body of the IS200, can come with the 220bhp 2JZ but only the saloon body seems to get the 2.0 beams engine
Honda Fit/Jazz RS - Manual, 120bhp-ish, meant to be a good base car and can come 6 speed
Toyota Vitz RS Turbo - Manual and 150bhp, not that many around

There are a load of Toyota's with either the 1.6 and 160bhp-ish or the 1.8 190bhp in different body styles and variations. Anyways, Ive likely missed a load, but those are the ones I remember the most. The Blade Master mentioned above is a good should, auto only, but doable within budget.
