Thinking of an oldish estate scooby turbo - help.

I have an TVR Griffith 500, but in the wet/ice/winter/snow, it is a little tail happy to sya the least! I was thinking of getting a Subaru Impreza Turbo estate aswell. Looking in autotrader I think you can get them for as low as £8k. Anyone owned one, or got any thoughts.

Yep, had the same combo untill 6 months ago, well, a 4ltr anyway and the Scooby was the last of the old shape.

Things I found annoying were:-

Clutch judder when cold (common I'm told, but doesn't happen on all cars)
trim rattling and squeaking, but so what, if you wanted a golf you'd get one.
Fuel bills for a run-a-bout were quite high.
Understeer, but this can be driven around, you'll learn.

Things I found excellent were:-
All weather grip (phenominal, I used to laugh in the wet, it defied physics).
Handling.
Engine noise.
Good seats.
Good but slightly noisey Motorway cruiser.
With the seats down the boot is massive.
Looked quite purposefull.
It was reliable, cheap to service (around £100) for the minor services.
Tyres lasted me 22k.......and I wasn't driving like a grandad.

Good car really. Got it new from Holland for 15k OTR!

Legacy Estate quad cam turbo's quicker than a Cossie and look like an antique dealers workhorse, cheap if you can find one
