Good grief.

...and to think I got offered a nice R32 for £7k back in 2005!

banghead
Yup they were ridiculous value for money a few years back, wish I bought one sooner! I got in just before the boom, the value has doubled in my short ownership already. Try not to think about that side of it though as I don’t want to sell it!

Searched the JDM imports companies and the japanese auctions... my dream of a R32 GT-R will be delayed.

I have calculated something near to £28k to have the car here and registered.

^ NICE the 86 does look particularly good in red. Any plans to change the wheels? for me those are the only real let down.
I'd like to get a set of the matt black Team Dynamics <something> 1.2 wheels to go on it. The stud pattern on the MX5 is 114.5 vs 100 on the 86. Otherwise I could just move them over...darn!

Then as it's my everyday car I'd have summer/track and winter sets.

Looks like a Satria and if I recall it’s got an Evo engine and running gear.

Satria was basically a Mitsi Colt.

Yup. All the Awd running gear from an Evo2 RS.

It basically is an Evo in a newer Mitsubishi shell.

Like that!

Have you driven it back to back with a full fat EVO?

What's the difference like?

It’s a little lighter and has a 2in shorter wheelbase, but drives pretty much the same.

The biggest benefit is less rust as it was under sealed from new as a UKDM car.

I just liked the idea, so I did it.

I did cut up a perfectly straight Evo 2 Gsr shell for all the AWD parts in the process, when they were still cheap. At the time it didn’t feel like a crime.

Spoiler alert!!!

I've had this a few weeks now and have spent a substantial amount of time clay baring and decontaminating the paint ready for a more thorough detail but as it was sunny I fancied a break from cleaning & went for a blast which included a quick stop for a few pictures. .

Had the shogun almost 2 years now. Had to fit Bilstein shockers to make it less wobbly though.

Meet Lego!

My best 4x4 by far smile

Tooled up to travel to Manchester Airport as an emergency response vehicle to then cross the Peaks back to a Sheffield cancer hospital with a very ill patient just as the really bad snow hit.

It didn't miss a beat or get stuck once.

My new toy, dealer pics only at the moment as it's a bit grubby after coming down from Harrogate!

Standard other than the reverse camera and integrated screen. I'll be looking out for the GB270 alcantara seats on Ebay/breakers as I prefer the looks of them.

It needs the rear shocks sorted soonish although they're not terrible, I'll probably upgrade them and fit STI Brembo brakes when I get the suspension done, and get it aligned as well as that's a bit off.

It's great fun! Quieter and faster than my BBR'd MK4 MX5 (which will be going up for sale shortly). I love the turbo torque, wonderful on the motorway in comparison to my MX5! Confidence inspiring as well on a very wet M40.

Needed a more practical thing for bikes and gardening work...felt this would fit the bill!

biggrin

That looks cracking, really nice :-)

Engine standard, aye? Surprised it's quicker than the FI'd MX5 tho, given the weight difference.
