Bit of a random thread here, looking to get an S2000 soon, (Keeps getting put off with House renovation having to take priority.)

Always come into the Honda section to see whether there is any S2000 action, but its gone quiet recently.

Any Chaps on here with S2000s want to get some pictures up to keep me entertained on my dinner times.

Cheers.

I use this forum quite a bit. I really hate it. It's ok for some things, but it's such an unwieldy beast that's slow as hell to load.

I do agree, since it's been upgraded it's damn slow, especially on the iPhone. Plus there a huge amount if sections, never know where to start!

To the point that I've asked questions here and on other Honda forums and have explicitly asked 'don't send me to 'S2Ki'...

Sorry Mikey, it's not a pop at you...you're being helpful to Russel here...I just really really hate that site even though I use it.

Anywho... To answer your request...

It's a good fun car. It's not as quick a thought it would be, my fd2 can keep up with it. But it's a real joy to drive when the road is twisting etc.

I was commuting from Lancaster to Blackpool for a few months around Christmas time and was bombing up and down the m6 with roof down in all weather except heavy rain.

It's easy to tweak the tail out should you want to but otherwise it's very stable and is more comfortable than my fd2.

We bought one to see if we'd like it and we're already looking to upgrade to a better colour/spec. Ours is all black and it's a bit somber.

That's about it really...definitely glad we got one, would have another.

Cheers for the info, im also quite keen on the red/black interior. Gives an already dull interior a little bit of life, however RNBP only comes with black interior as standard, so im torn between moonrock with black and red interior, or RNBP and black interior.

If you are looking to sell in a couple months time send me a PM, however im not overly keen on the rear wing.

Cheers.

Here's a pic of mine that is currently for sale on S2Ki and here. I think you remarked about how clean it was on a previous thread. not sure if it's in your price range though.

Yea that's you, very very tidy car, however I'm wanting to spend cash only so can't really reach what you're asking for.

smile not a problem I used to mod on it and it frustrated the hell out of me then. But as a resource for the S it is the best.
Just to be clear my 420 BHP S went just over a year ago so I no longer actively use s2ki.
I just wish there was a forum as good for its replacement frown

I tell you what...because i feel soooo dreadful about knocking your initial advice for Russel, I will swap my S2K for your car so that you can be part of the S2K community again and feel part of the gang again.
I will have to endure the lack of forum support for your car, but I feel bad enough about my reaction to your advice that it's a sacrifice I will make to redress the karma balance.

My last name is 'MacPhee' for the V5. So many people spell my name wrong...

Liking the red one aswell, ive said that if i end up buying a pre-facelift model it has to be red with black wheels. So pretty much like yours minus bonnet. What lips that on the front bumper?

It sounds cheesy, but it really is my perfect daily car (I cannot afford a V12 Vantage):

  • The VTEC gives it a proper dual personality (which you'll either love or hate). Below 6000rpm it'll easily keep up with the flow of traffic. Above 6000rpm it's properly fast and an induction kit makes it sound good too. I hunt out country roads that go underneath motorways and railway line as it's the nearest I get to a tunnel in Hampshire.
  • Perfect compromise between daily comfort and country lane fun. An Elise is too hardcore for me, an SLK isn't exciting enough, an MX5 isn't powerful enough. The only time it feels too hardcore is when I have a long journey with a colleague on the motorway but that's only a couple of times a year.
  • Cheap to run (even insurance isn't that bad if you're over 30)
  • Reliable. Never put a foot wrong
  • Fairly rare. Most other owners I come across smile and wave.
What's not to like:
  • Lumpy running in the heat. Crawling in traffic in hot weather can make you kangaroo. Easy to live with once you're used to it though.
  • The forums will warn you of seized bushes. I don't know how common this is in the real world. You have to remember that a handful of people can make a lot of noise on a forum.
  • Split hood. It's a vinyl roof, it will split eventually. You either live with a couple of little holes or budget £800 every 8-10 years for a new hood.
  • Polished alloys corrode, as they do on most cars.
  • Stereo is rubbish. The flip-down cover allows you to put a cheap after-market one in without making your car look chavy.

Mine in "burgundy".. ive not seen any others around in this colour.
or maybe i have.. the metallic burgundy just looks black (to me) unless in good sunlight at the right angle!..
