Email or Facebook is the easiest way of catching him.

He generally replies to emails within 24hrs.

I will only go to iridium, he treats my car how I treat my car and being able to stand and chat to him whilst he does my servicing etc is a big bonus.
Hmmm. I appreciate he does good work but after I needed work doing ASAP and I really, really needed to get in touch with him, I simply couldn't. The message I left on the answerphoned stressed I needed a call back ASAP but I heard nothing back....and still haven't, that was in January this year. Been using Brystone for approx 3 years now. I'm a happy customer of theirs and when needed I'll continue to use them.

Seems strange.

I emailed sean at about 9pm a couple of weekend ago on a Sunday night and he had replied back 30 mins later. I hve never phoned though. Either just pop in, or email and I have never had anything but a very positive experience.

I have never had such good communication from a garage before.

I drive down from SW London to use them.

Only ever Iridium for me too - seems like a lot of people have gone the same way too. Sean is a very very busy man - he was turning work down last time I dropped my car off with a water pump failure.

He still managed a 36 hour turnaround - the guy is gold dust!

I tend to text or email to get in touch though :-)

Just to throw it out there...I've recently used Bromspec BMW who are near Stockbridge, winchester. I appreciate not South Coast close but I've found him worth the trip.
I had a vacuum hose failure on my 535d 5 days before a nurburgring trip and nowhere, including Bartley / Brystone / Iradium could see me for days.
James at Bromspec had it sorted in 2 days. Very enthusiastic and very accommodating and worth speaking to.

After my 328i failed its MOT on emissions and developed a misfire I'm taking it to an Indy for diagnostics.

I got hold of Sean at Iridium at 8pm on saturday night using facebook, but unfortunately he is on holiday.

So instead I'm off to Bartley, they are going to see me at 7.30am this week and I'll report back with my experience.

I can't fault Brystone. Used them for many years. Richard, Lee and Martine are all lovely people.

Iridium are impossible to get hold off due to being so busy, so I'll seeing what Brystone can do.

Being busy is a great testament, but does bring it's own challenges.

I couldn't get hold of Sean either via phone or email. So i physically went to his garage which is only a 15 min drive. i did manage to speak to him and he said he is not taking bookings as he has 6 weeks of work already booked. I did ask for another BMW specialist that he would recommend in the area. In the End i took it to Brystone who were very good they fixed all of my issues

Interesting, I was mulling going down too as local, he's closed his Facebook page. Doesn't take much to respond to a customer and say I'm fully booked for 6 weeks.

I've not doing anything with my 135i tbh now. Boring and mulling M135i or E92 M3. So not sure if I want to spend ££ on it.

Hey guys, an alternative to Brystone and Bartleys: KWR Services on Mt Pleasant Rd. Kirk is the main man there and he's absolutely brilliant. Top bloke, great service, and always willing to help. I've had a lot of work done there and he's always done it with a smile and for a great value too.

Is this guy a bmw specialist or just a good all rounder mechanic

Judging by his posts on the hampshire BMW facebook group, a bit of both.

Not sure I'd choose him over the likes of Iridium for a M3/5 etc.

I've recently used TWG automotive in Camberley.

They were great too.

He's a great all rounder but has a passion for BMW's, namely E36 and E46's. Incredibly helpful and really amazing value for money. The man's a workaholic too - it's rare to see the place closed before 10pm on a weeknight and/or Saturdays! Yes he does prefer the modified variety of BMW's (he's building an E36 turbo/nitrous tourer at the moment which will be impressive when complete) but he still does the regular stuff like services, repairs, MOT prep, etc. I honestly wouldn't go anywhere else - if I hadn't forked out for a service plan elsewhere before I found KWR Services...
