I'm on £5k down 36 months at £455. 10k per year with a list of £37k
Thanks for that. Suggests some massaging of the figures and I might get to £450 a month.

I'm on 4 years / 8000 miles, £4k deposit - £389 p/m

Options were sport auto, pro media and Harmon Kardon. Also got service pack included.

Dealer contribution was £4837.

I'd say so James. One thing though. I run a second car and we also use the wife's SLK a lot this time of year, and I will struggle to stay under 10k mileage.

I worked out that the cost per extra miles is cheaper than selecting a higher allowance in the first place. Plus I doubt I will go the full three years as I can hand the car back after 28 months and owe nothing.

Might be worth looking at the sums and see what works best for you and your plans.

One one thing. The M135i is more expensive as from July this year. Mine cam out about £1k dearer if I wanted the same car now. This can only be reflected in the monthly figures.

Ah yes, I recall hearing about the price rise, which brought the headline figure above £30k. Off for a test drive today (auto) so will see how I get on.

I think that's another price rise on top of that as its been above £30k base price for quite a while now.

The M135i is on a 3yr PCP @ £361/month for a car that after 9.7% discount cost just under 30k.
May I ask what term you've gone for and whether you've gone with BMW or a thrid party?

I've asked my local dealer to quote me with 12k miles PA, £5k down, list price £34,500 and over three years, all of which came to £505 per month. Having calculated that my last six years of motoring have cost me £390 a month every month that's the figure I was shooting for and when I saw your figure of £361 I thought I was in with a chance.

Thanks
Your thinking is just like mine was. Last car cost £450/month over 3 years and I wanted to spend less over next three years but still drive a faster car. The fixed cost aspect of PCP really appealed.

My PCP is three years and with BMW. Your car is costing £4,500 more than mine (final OTR price inc discount in my case) and I had £1.500 down more than you. Thats £6k across 36 months = £166/month before interest. My mileage is a bit higher than you which means your deal sounds about right. Can you loose some options or haggle harder? My car is manual with only the cheaper sat nav and the comfort pack (PDC and cruise control). Don't miss adaptive dampers because I never tried them and I don't have a problem with how the car rides without them. The auto box gets great reviews but I'll never be disappointed to have bought the manual. The better sat nav and memory seats (shared car with the Mrs) would be nice but I honestly couldn't justify the expense.

Anyway 2500 miles in and I love the car. Just wish the Mrs didn't keep getting to the keys first.

We'll be buying for cash and p/xing the 335d (now worth about a tenner) hence waiting for year old models to take the depreciation hit. Did the same with the 335d and got a 2 year old, 16k example from Sytner for almost half the list price. I can't wait two years for an M135i though!

Thanks, that's very helpful. I haven't started haggling yet, but the test drive on Friday confirmed the decision. Auto very impressive, but having lived with my Alpina for a few months I definitely have a preference for manual. The car I drove had the regular suspension and I'm fine with that so like you, no need for adaptive dampers. My last three cars had electric seats so loath to give them up, but the are a bit of on extravagance. It's been a while since a test drive has made me think the game has moved on but I was genuinely impressed with it so hopefully a good deal can be done.

First post so go easy on me...

I searched for 6 months for a 335i. In the end I found a E90 LCI N54. Quite a rare car as a lot of the LCI cars are N55. You will pay a premium for a nice car in top spec. After 3 months of ownership there has been no problems so far. The JB4 is an amazing mod and transforms the drive of the car. Downpipes will be on next Monday to free up the revs a little bit more.
Nothing wrong with the N55 engine in the M135 but it is a little more laggy. If you are leaving it standard then you won't notice. If you are going for a tune (which you should be as either engine is ripe for it) The N54 responds a little better throughout the rev range.
Just one more thing to think about with regards to space. The E90 is a saloon, the 1er is a hatch. Unless you plan on using the back seats a lot you may find the 135 more practical.

Edit* My fully comp warranty including european breakdown is £40odd a month. With the costs of labour in BMW dealers, I think it's well worth it.

Same cost here on an 07 335i touring assuming yours is the bmw warranty. Is there any point in spending that cost with a modded car which is a fairly straight up waiver of liability in the warranty terms?

Random question - how quickly does Pro Nav fire up? I hate waiting aeons for systems to start up when all I want to do is switch on the radio - partly why I avoided i-drive in a 3 series.

I think the iDrive has moved on a bit since then.. I haven't thought about it for a while so maybe I'm just used to it - I would reckon on it taking a few seconds to start playing music from disc/usb drive when i get in - but at that point I'm too busy enjoying the start up noise of the car to notice ;-)

You get a quick message saying maps are loading, and it connects to your phone at the same time..

I've used much more modern systems but most (like the 2011 system in our van) still take an age to boot up.

Sounds good though - another point added to my current "project" - to persuade the wife we "need" to trade in the 335d Touring for an M135i...

Following a successful test drive the other week I am now in the negotiation phase. I won't bore you with my end to end spec, but on the BMW website the OTR price is given as £35,040.

Talking to my dealer rep he tells me that this OTR price does not include £700 delivery, nor the cost of numberplates (£50 apparently). Clearly all of this can be negotiated out but if that's true then it's a poor show from BMW (UK) since there should surely be some price harmony.

Anybody else experienced this recently when ordering a new BMW?

Not noticed. 2 to 3 secs I reckon very quickly.

The BMW website looks pretty clear to me and states: "The recommended on the road price includes delivery, BMW Emergency Service, number plates, first registration fee, vehicle excise duty and 20% VAT". On that basis I think your dealer is incompetent and/or trying to pull a fast one but whichever it is they're wrong!

I recently picked up my 2007 335i SE E93 for £10500 which is a lot cheaper than any other one I could find online... It has every extra going and I'm extremely happy with the car itself although the only issue is the wastegate rattle which is extremely common. I'm looking to get it fixed and have quoted £1300 for fitting and upgraded wastegates.
It's an issue a lot of drivers find with the N54 engine after doing silly amounts of research online.

Sorry to bump an old thread but I'm having to make the same decision now 4 years on but with prices of the 135i totally different

Very very difficult finding an e90 manual lci 335i, have seen 2 so far in about 2-3 months. Both SE models, the 70k one sold for £8k and a 30k one sold for £9.5k. One M-sport from a dealer on at the moment but thats £16k. Another just popped up at £14k but no idrive/screen

I've seen a 40k m135i for under £14k which has now been sold but was wondering if it would be worth paying that extra bit of money to get the m135i

I'm assuming it's gonna be a resounding yes?
