Mine's at 135k now. Long way to go to catch up with others on this thread.

I only do 12k miles per year, but I still plan to keep mine until it hits 200k.

About to click over 204k. Just had wheels refurbed and new boots all round. New water pump & viscous fan. It deserves it!
Here's to 250k.

Yes, of course it did laugh

I'm on a mere 138k now, runs well but gets through a bit of oil. Will be selling in a couple of weeks as I got a cheap lease deal. Great cars, mines needed nothing other than consumables and CCV replacement in the last 40k.

My 325ti has done 25k since I bought it in Jan this year and has been utterly reliable. My parents did 150k in an E46 330i years ago, and my dad has now done 207,000 miles in his X5 with the same 3.0 lump with only an alternator change. Amazing things really.

I bought it at 214k and it had a full dealer service history up to that point. Anything that ever needed replacing was done by BMW using BMW parts so, yes it did drive & feel like new still - literally had £1000's spent on it maintaining it, it never saw a dealer again once it was in my hands laugh

Not a 330 but similar. A guy on the Alpina Forum has a B3 S Touring that has
just clicked 234567 miles.cool
And probably a head gasket or two.
Does the B3 have a reputation for doing this?
There is a mega miles B3 for sale on AT for very low money and I'm seriously tempted.

Anything with that mileage could go bang at any time. I'd look for low number of previous owners and plenty of stamps in service book. Look at small details like make of tyres and whether they all match to indicate meticulous ownership.
If serviced regularly I think these engines will last indefinitely.
I love mine to bits. Would take a good offer to prise her away...

I've not seen a mega mileage 330i, seen an E36 325i non Vanos with 250k. My 330d has 232k.

A well maintained M54 has an indefinite life span. If it has a functioning cooling system and plenty of oil, it will run and run and run. I know of a 2001 520i 2.2 with 320'000 miles. It uses about a litre of oil every 2000 miles but the car isn't worth a cup of cold p**s and oil is cheap enough.

It's good to see such a thread.

Normally people will avoid anything with over 70,000 miles with a large barge pole!

That may have been true in the 70's, but modern cars can still feel new at 100K if they have been looked after.

Waits for engine warning light to come on next time I drive it...

I beg to differ. Take a look at how some people become massively excited at a 20 year old car with super low miles and will call others idiots quite openly on them for thinking otherwise.

Out of my friends I am probably the only person who has a car on 6 figures and most of my cars have been, some even with 2** or 3** on them on occasion.

I agree with if they have been looked after. When I gave my sister our old 1.8 Mk3 Mondeo on 324k we struggled for ages to find anything suitable for under £4k; it seemed almost everything was abused and tired, some stuff with 120k, others getting towards 70-80k on it. I'm sorry but if I can keep the exterior of the car in good order as well as the interior yet keep it driving very well why can't someone do that on an 80,000 mile car? It's not rocket science.

I only sold it as we didn't fancy throwing £400+ at a crank seal leak.

The interesting one for me was the Porsches. One was mine was on a now "low" 120k and the other on 178k. If I didn't know the source of the car I probably would have hesitated. The latter was head and sholders better in almost every way:

Sorry, it was late and what was in my head did not make it to the keyboard. I meant that it was true a 70k car was often something to avoid in the 70's and it is much less true now, not that people had changed their attitude since.

Saw one on AT with 270k on it earlier in the week.
Just had oil service done on mine yesterday. That's 27 stamps in the book now. 206500 up now.
I'll keep it as long as it runs.

The guy I bought my 911 off picked me up from the train station in his 325i, it had a mere 287,000 miles on it! Looked a bit rough round the edges, but the engine was typical smooth quiet BMW straight 6...

204 on mrs hairys '04 ci. 198 when I bought it just over a year ago.

Wouldnt have picked one that leggy but time was of the issue and it drove better than a couple of others with supposedly substantially less, and the SH was mostly intact to back it up. Some chap did 40k in one year in it!
