Yep, that's what they recommended to me too following the sump replacement.

Only issue is that it requires a full software update, not just the box so it works out at circa £200!! Benefit is that the idrive etc gets updated too, which made my system run much better.

Still not 100% sure if the box service or software fixed the problem but one of them did!!

Bump

Well, my problem persists. It's far less frequent an event, but does still seem to happen. Mine's now had the sump kit and it was apparently already on the latest version of the 'box software. The indy have reflashed it just to make doubly sure, so I'll have to see how it goes.

Did you manage to solve this?

I have the exact same problem, more so once the car has warmed up. To be honest I really thought it to be an engine problem rather than gearbox problem. It feels like the fuel/air is being cut off. Happens in the exact same scenarios.. junctions, roundabouts, inclines. Seems that once you put some demands on the car it happens, and is quite dangerous.

I put it into manual mode and am able to reproduce it pulling away in M2 which is why I dismissed the problem as being kept in too high a gear..

Had a recent pan and oil change, plus adaptions reset but made no difference.

It's ruining what is otherwise a lovely clean car....

Wondering if you ever found the fix for this? I have the exact same issue going on as you describe. Manual trans. Recently replaced VVT & MAF sensors.

2 year bump as I’m having the same issues as others in this thread. Anyone have a firm solution? I’m going to get the auto box serviced, as it’s on 102k.

Check your ecu box for water. Mine was always worse in the colder months, until last year when it got bad enough to start logging coil pack faults. Having changed a couple only for the fault to return eventually it went in to be looked at. Took them a while to replicate it but when they did they managed to find that it was water sloshing about in the ecu box that was causing it.

Needed a new ecu as apparently mine was fully bathing in it and it had got bad enough to knacker the board. I also replaced all remaining coil packs and all plugs anyway as it was cheap/easy enough to do. Been fine ever since.

That’s interesting, mine is worse in winter months too. Will investigate thank you.

Hi, just wondered if you found a solution? We have the exact same problem with our 330M, intermittent loss of power circa 1200 revs, roundabouts, turning into a junction, especially with an incline.

Check in the ECU box to see if it's full of water.
