Only started using bmwland over the past few weeks and found it to be a great useful site.

If any help is needed to keep the site going, I own several websites and could host on my server and help get it up and running again free of charge.

Please contact me at phil@acpservicesltd.co.uk if you so wish or if i can be of any help

My sincere condolences to Matts family.....

Very sad news, he created a BMW forum that was such a great place to be and exactly how a forum should be. My sincere condolences to the family.
If i can offer my services (digital design) for the site please let me know.

My sincere condolences to Matt's family and friends for their loss.

I joined BMWLand in Aug 2011 and never joined another forum; simply because it was so well put together, nothing else compared. The advice on the Land and the amount of collective knowledge is unrivalled. If BMWLand cannot be salvaged it will be a real shame.

Please post details if there is to be a meet in memory of Matt, I'd like to attend and pay my respects. Hope I haven't missed it already.

His hard work gave so many, including me, help & sound advice about all things BMW. I too feel a little lost without BMWLand, became part of my daily routine.

Rest in Peace Matt.

I will ask for a formal position from his wife but please do not get your hopes up. It is extremely unlikely to start up again and I will ask her how much I can post on here about the reasons as I do not want to tread on her toes.

Hopefully I can share more in the next day or two.

I suspect the site could be sold quite easily or is it the site's existence itself that is causing difficulty?

Just came across this thread.

As with all the others, I was an avid follower of the 'Land [as "slim_boy_fat"] and was VERY saddened to read about Matt. cry

Thanks to Rick and the others who enquired about me, still on the go and missing the craic.......

Will be following developments through this thread, fingers and everything else crossed that some resolution can be found to keep the 'Land going - it was one of the friendliest and most helpful forums on the interweb.

I'm stunned......utterly stunned! Matt was so good to me when I was seriously ill.

To Matt's family my deepest sympathy and love.

To my 'land family and friends please keep in contact. As a long time member you all became so much part of my life. Olli, brocky, Nik, everyone....

If there is anything that can be done or if I can be of any use please let me know.

Been wondering much the same, Sean.

I've changed my username here to john.Bonar because it's easier to remember and (would you believe) there was already a 'slim_boy_fat' on here when I signed up. frown

If any of my 'Land cyber pals fancy a blether/catch-up just PM me.

I write this with the utmost sensitivity ,
I m only guessing here but as Matt was the founder/owner of Bmwland it would be a reasonable assumption to make ,that as such, the Land would be considered part of his estate . Anyone who has dealt with winding up a loved ones estate will appreciate how long this can take sometimes and would leave the Land in limbo for a considerable amount of time , perhaps permanently ,as has already been hinted at by Kateg28, ultimately that decision would lie with Matts family .
