If Mike & Craig @ Autohaus (York) looked after it, it will have been well looked after. They looked after our 740 / 650 / 330 for 12 years. thumbup

Ok, so not an E61 or a 550i, but this E60 540i with a manual box must be rare thing.... if only it was wagon!

If only it was 3k cheaper. 10k plus is crack pipe pricing in my view.

No, but I've priced it (knowingly) a bit optimistically - I'm not under pressure to shift it quickly.

A guy with a matching 530d has indicated he would be interested at Parkers' prices - I'm hoping someone who really wants a 550i will come along at some point...

545i se takes 275/35/18s on the rear

550i Sport takes 245/40/18s, and panel inside drivers door doesn't list a larger figment.

Ant reason why I can't put 275s on the 550 - it's very skittish on the goodyears?

Tourings run a square set up, saloons staggered. You may have clearance issues running wider rears on a touring.

You can fit larger rears. I think the wider setup was an option on the touring but not sure. I have some none standard wheels on my touring which are 10 inch rear and 8.5 inch front and they fit fine. I have a set of staggered style 124 wheels in my lockup which are OEM but i didnt ever get chance to fit them without spacers which was the intention. I believe these should fit fine. They are 9 inch rear and 8 inch front and will take a 275 35 on the rear.

They **may** fit but they were never an option.

Shook hands on this but not picked it up yet. If we get on then my 550i will have to go.

Nice buy there. I really like the E91 shape, the N54, and the autobox behind it. Should feel as quick as the 550i too. What prompted the change?

I like my 550i but its always felt a bit big. I can throw it around now with the stiffer suspension and fat sticky tyres but its still a big lump of a car. Generally it is just me in the car if I am going biking - once in a blue moon - or me and my daughter which is also infrequent as she lives with her mum. There are not many cars to replace a 550i if you want to stick to estate and have something powerful enough to excite. I've had my eye out for a 335 Touring for a while now and wanted the LCI as the earlier cars are £500 road tax. When this popped up I snapped it up. Its got a few more toys than my 550i too and I prefer the colour scheme. I'm not gonna rush to sell the 550i until I've had chance to try the 335 for a while. I could always change my mind and keep the 550i as its still a rare car.

Surely that's 500 to tax as well? Or did you mean if it's going to be 500 you may as well get the LCI?

Nice car though congrats. I like them.
