Yes very clean nice bunch of guys, in terms of a review I had a long bank holiday traffic infested drive back up the a17 and a1 and from that I could tell the car wasn't any firmer which I liked, once on to the moorland b roads near home and before that some sweeping a roads the car felt very flat and cut into corners with distain for the curve and the speed I was carrying through them.

The car feels more hunkered down with far more control at each corner if that makes sense?
Slightly surprised you felt after market suspension mods were required on an M5 (always had the impression the standard car was pretty well sorted?) but pleased you feel the upgrade's been worthwhile! Out of interest can I ask what sort of money you were charged for fitting (which I assume included a full alignment check)?

Traction has also been greatly improved but that could be the KDS that was done, car feels great glad I did it, in terms of cost for the fitting + springs + KDS + set of longer bolts for my spacers (I supplied the spacers) it was around £850.

I've had two 330d's before, both of which Superchips remapped for me, both produced a lot more grunt, and the driveability and economy were greatly improved. So I'd like to get MY2018 335d X-Drive Touring done when it lands in November BUT.......my lovely Superchips man tells me that there are some big risks here, that seemingly no-one here has mentioned: these are, that the ECU itself has to be dismantled, and this means, unusually on modern cars, breaking through glue to do it, and the odd one can go wrong so that the engine won't start at all; your friendly local dealer will know straight away that the electronic file has been changed, so your warranty may well be out of the window. For me, this is too big a risk. So is there is a proper solution that plugs into the OBD port and can be removed should the car have to go into a dealer?

PS. IMHO, the whole X-Drive on these 335d's is a non-argument: if you drive the car in a spirited fashion on wet roads or worse, *you need 4wd*, simples, however much of a god you (think you) are behind the wheel.

From previous thread ....

Green (MG60) is Std
Red (M5ET) is a bluespark generic £150 tuning box
Pink (HJ64) is Steinbauer box
Other Green (TR08) is DMS remap
Blue (WJ14) is Ecotune stage 1 remap

The Ecotune remap is good value and close to its claimed performance figures.

For the tuning boxes, the generic bluepark setup was smooth and extremely good value.

No you do not *need* 4WD, 4WD just gives you more grip until a point at which the moment is less progressive than if it were just one axle being driven. If anything it makes you drive more like an idiot, giving you the sensation of being "safer" in reality you should be driving slower and giving more time.

As for worse conditions stick proper tyres on every time. Even the most useless car can get places with the right tyre fitted, and you do not get lumbered with carrying around extra parts to give you the same result. Nothing more so than driving my 640D on Winters be completely fine in heavy snow (only the last bit at home where it had frozen was it time to take it even more easily and even then we were fine - studded tyres would have been the ultimate answer there).
