I'm doing Donington Park with MSV on Monday 29th January (£100!) and Cadwell Park with Javelin on the Monday 26th February (£89!), and it's always interesting to compare supposedly similar cars!
Ohhhh, Donington isn't too far from me, could be a goer. I'll ask tomorrow what my chances are of getting holiday (mondays are often a pain)

No info from me but I saw that one for sale (theres a number that have suddenly popped up for some reason!), and personally I think it looks pretty promising, the ad reads well, its a good spec with money spent and OK miles.

If it checks out looks worth the money to me, if your in the market for one I'd get it looked at ASAP!

Anyone have a sport manual (preferably 6 speed & leather w/ good paint & no dents) they'd be consider selling?

Been a few on classifieds but all bit ropey or neglected. Thanks.
Mine's not a 5-speed but I'm going to parting with it at some stage in the not-too-distant. It's been very well cared for and mileage kept low (just on 90k now), and I'm the second owner. 2002 325ti Sport, black sapphire metallic with grey montana leather and carbon cube trim. Quite a few mods, all tastefully done and with decent quality parts. PM me if you're interested. There's a pic or two further back in this thread...

Indeed I did, its been really well looked after, body is straight, engine is a peach, interior is in good nick (just needs some leather cleaner). Couldn't be happier. biggrin
Seller was also a really nice chap, was a pleasure to deal with him.

Another fault free MOT in the bag, handbrake needs slight adjustment which I'll puzzle over today (I've taken the e46 handbrake adjustment puzzle before, makes you question what clockwise is) I've got the rocker cover gasket to do finally as well.

I did moot selling the car with the missus, I've got a hankering for an old boxster, but was round my told definitely not...

Thanks, is it worth changing the expansion tank and pipes as a routine, I've not pressure tested the system but its not losing a huge amount of coolant, I've only topped it up once in two years, about 5000 miles. I know its a weakness of this era BMW, is there a kit available?

When my BMW Indy (FWIW he's ex-Sytner) did my "banana" radiator at his recommendation he also fitted a new cap, expansion tank, thermostat, coolant temp sensor (lower pipe) and at my request a new auxiliary drive belt as the old one was cracking.

To be fair it had bone 82K miles by then, and I've changed rads on younger cars long before that in the past.

I had it all done as it's my daily and I figured it was worth doing it all while it was in bits, as doing it in instalments would cost more!

He did say rads last a lot longer in the diesels because the intercooler sits below the rad and stops it bowing - if you are doing it yourself a bit of angle iron might make the new one last longer!

I wouldn’t worry about the pipes, it’s the o rings on the pipes that leak with age. You can get a new o ring kit on eBay. A chap in the US makes it. Re exp tank, again if it’s ok leave it till it goes, they last well. Coolant is G48, a 5l bottle of neat will do the job. If it’s an auto there is high chance the autobox cooler will break during the rad change, so order a new one ready.

ref coolant.. I'm changing my expansion tank shortly and my car has had a rad change in the past and I can see the coolant is pink, am I right in saying this won't be G48? Given it's unlikely I'm going to be able to get all of the old coolant out should I switch over to G48 and hope it mixes OK with whatevers left of the pink stuff or should I just stick to a 5 year pink coolant? (I also already have 5 litres of pink premixed QX from another car)
