I've always run mine on 98 and get 420-460 miles out of a tank. Definitely performs like a dream on the higher octane imo.
I've always got that sort of mileage from a tank in mine, even when I was using 95 RON.

But after my BMW Indy told me all the straight 6 BMWs run better on 98 I've been using that. I haven't noticed any improvement in economy, but it does seem to drive slightly better!
I run supermarket slurry in mine with the odd tank of super to keep everything clean. When doing 25k/yr in it I didn't want to spend the extra on super! I usually get 470-490 miles out of a tank. When on 16' wheels 550 miles to a tank is doable.
Wow, I filled up with v power and the car only reckoned 398 miles for the tank. It went up to 411 miles whilst driving around but quickly went back down again when I pressed the loud pedal biggrin May need to reset the knock sensor for it to really make an effect on the performance / mileage.

I did manage 480 in November on Super Plus - but it said it only had 5 miles left when I bottled it!

That's one thing a 130i will never do - the tank is only 55 litres.

Mind you my old 320td could easily do over 600 miles on a tank, even if it wasn't much fun!

155 miles around Donnington Park in a 325ti sounds like a much better idea. laugh

Did a little bit of rooting around in the car today and found one of the build sheets under the rear bench seat for the car. Supposedly you can find them under the rear bench seat and under the passengers seat stapled to the foam?

I've found the one under the bench seat that lists the type of leather used for the interior but not under the passenger seat. Top left of the sheet says "Hintersitz EHB" which translates to Rear Seat, presuming that is the location of this sheet there should be another one for the passenger seat listing all the other options.

May be of interest to some of you, found anything similar under the bench seat / passenger seat?

ETA: a very nice looking 325ti 6 speed facelift sport w/ alcantara interior has come up for sale on m3cutters if anyones interested: http://forums.m3cutters.co.uk/showthread.php?t=190...

That looks good, and I would like a facelift even if only for the 6-speed box - but 3 years ago I got change (well, a fiver) from £2K for my Imola Red 325ti Sport with full leather on 80K miles!

Either that's top money, or mine is worth more than I thought!

Quick question.

How many seatbelts does the Compact have in the back, and does it have Isofix?

I had a 325ti Sport years ago but rarely went in the back. smile

Thinking about getting another but need three rear seats for emergency child transportation.

It has 3 rears so can seat 5 in total and has Isofix in back but will check if just for 2 child seats

1-coupe only has 2 belts in back ( 4 seats in total )

Funnily enough, that was a consideration for me as well ( 5-seater on occasion )

There's a coupe on the drive with 3 belts in the back wink
On the interior build sheet I found it mentioned having a middle seat belt / headrest as an option?

A 1-coupe with 3 rear belts or do you mean a 3-coupe?

S495A is the option you're referring to maybe

Yep 2 x isofix on the backseat.

Mr Tidy ref that one on Cutters it looks nice and the price is right on the money imo, perhaps even a little cheap.

Ahem. eek
https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

granted its a 316ti auto, not a 325ti but that makes the price even more shocking! Especially as its pretty much poverty spec..

Thanks for the feedback - two more questions I forgot to ask if ya don't mind?

Is there isofix on the front passenger seat, is there a passenger front airbag and if so can it be turned off? (Sorry that might count as three questions).

I have realised that while the baby travels in a rear facing seat, it is going to be very challenging to get her in and out of the back.

Cheers.

I'm not sure about Isofix in the front, but there are front and side airbags for both front seats.

I can't find any mention of it in my sales brochure but if it was available as an option to turn it off, when the passenger door is open you'll see a key-hole in the end of the dash (My 1 Series had it).

To be honest it was getting his daughter in and out of the back that prompted my nephew to sell his - he bought a 325i Touring instead!

No isofix on the front seats. No airbag off switch. They can be coded off but I still wouldn’t recommend a baby seat in the front.

I'll have to look into that then, make sure mine haven't been coded out as the previous owner had a big child seat in the front.
