Like that. Simple and effective.

Shame you had to fix it in the first place though - will you mention it to your dealer at next service?

Between the A-pillar and the windscreen trim there was a gap a few millimetres wide - covered with black tape up to the roofline and viola - no wind noice. It also turns out the roof rail wan't causing any noise - just this gap. Happy now :-)
Thanks so much - I'll have a look when I'm home, seems amazing tbh that this can cause such an annoying issue! Certainly don't expect to have to use tape on a brand new car! Fingers crossed this cures my noise as well as it really does spoil what is otherwise a great car imo.

No - I've got some clear paint protection film on the way that will cover the gap without being too obvious. Sod's law says that if the dealer starts messing with it it'll only get worse.

Another update - tried the clear protective film and while it does work, it collects condensation on the inside where the gap is, so next is some black silicone sealant. I'm determined to fix this if it kills me.
