Panamera Turbo

Looking to purchase a new car, I think its going to be the Panamera Turbo.
Anything I should consider when ordering? This will be my first ever porsche, so looking forward to the experience
Turbo comes well specced so you don't necessarily need to go mad with options. I'd spend some time on the chassis options specifically Rear Wheel Steer (RWS)....makes a big difference to how the car will drive. OPC should have at least one demonstrator but I'd try and get to drive both back. As part of ordering a new car you get a half day session at the Porsche Experience Centre (PEC) at Silverstone...I'd ideally try and get that in the dairy before your car goes into lockdown to try as many options as possible!Anything I should consider when ordering? I've driven the 4S Diesel which was seriously quick so lord knows what the Turbo is like.

tFor dairy work it's 4wd as standard so that's covered but sport turismo may be better option for carrying bottles , feed , udder lube Etc .
Have you thought about the 4S? That's a turbo too now and f.quick, for a lot less money.

I tried one and was impressed. I really don't see how I'd ever need the full-fat Turbo over those levels of performance.
Having said that, good on you for going all-in. Just be careful with the old license......

I took the 4S out for a test drive, and whilst the car is plenty quick enough, I felt you really had to rev it hard to get the performance out of it. This then made it feel unrefined, there didnt seem to be much low down grunt.
Still loved the car however, so order is now placed, and its the full fat turbo :-)

Well done OP, you'll have a great car!
I drove the S, the diesel S and the turbo back to back at the launch event at the Silverstone PEC back in December. The petrol S was nimble and well balanced but that engine note would start to grate I think. The turbo had far more heft (in a good way) and the performance was both appropriately effortless and immense.
The only tips I got from the Porsche guys on the day were to make sure the leather on the dash was a dark colour to prevent it reflecting on the windscreen. Also, go for the Bose system (standard on the turbo?) as a minimum.
I thought the 4 wheel steer was exceptional and made the car more manoeuvrable than its predecessor.
Some of the turbos on the day had sports exhausts, which I would chose. The standard system was good but the difference was noticeable.
Think I'll go the same route when I eventually chop in my GTS so please let us know how you get on!

I have ticked the four wheel steer option, but am going with standard exhaust. I have been given strict instructions NOT to get a load car as it wakes the other half up in the morning :-)
Have gone for black leather as well, together with a few other options that add £17k to the car !!!
Cant wait to get it

The exhaust is switchable...she'll never know!
I am sure you'll manage to live without it.
The other option I've enjoyed was the adaptive cruise, makes motorway driving very easy but perhaps not for everyone.
Not sure whether £17k of options gets lots of kit but I think that was roughly where I got to on the configurator.
Are you going for the bodykit?

you'll love it
I had a '13 Turbo.
Ballistic (when mildly tuned ) - quicker than my 991 GT3.
had virtually every option box ticked (by the first owner )
Full sport design & lots of carbon etc.
was a brilliant car; only sold it as a GT3 came up at the right price
Would have another in a heartbeat if circumstances change

At the experience centre the track around the accelerate / brake straights has a kind of off camber corkscrewy bit. I put the turbo into that way too fast and it gave a bit of sort of twitch (but not a twitch) and just went round fine. The instructor said that was the rear wheel steer saving the day. It was way way too fast into that corner !
Also if you spin and go backwards the camera kicks in so you can see the fence coming towards you

Lucky Ive gone for full surround view then, I will be able to see the fence, hedges and lamp posts all at once
Its arriving end of April, early May, just in time for the good weather.
And night vision? - that was cool !Its arriving end of April, early May, just in time for the good weather.
I have Adaptive Cruise on my Cayenne....I absolutely love it, works really well and I've found I use it on B roads etc not just motorways or A roads.

Have I mentioned double glazing and burmester yet. You need them.
Clearly sir can't enjoy his £5k stereo if he can hear the wind whistling past him....And side and rear blinds you got them too right? Electric rear seats are nice too but nice only sat in the back once and the the DVD was nice.
I've ordered a Sport Turismo Turbo for the end of the year.
Sports exhaust, but not noise insulated windows as you can't hear it! Also sticking with standard Bose as my ears are not worthy of the upgrade cost.
Carbon ceramics are last thing to decide on, but could end up coming down some Alpine passes so will likely bite the bullet on those.
RWS is a must I would say.
